Cowiesarse mate we are only throwing 4/5 lads in that played in nwc div3 last season we are just using this comp as pre season and help a few 18s progress into the open age side but up to your men to get the summer league sorted would love to play your men again as they are top games. Even maybe a pre season friendly in middle of august or something would be good.

It would be great for any amateur team to play in summer.

The tracks are dry and it's enjoyable. I'm suprised there aren't many more teams in the league especially from Wigan.

No, it's an honest genuine question & I'm not having ago at CA's at all.

Banter or not, it's just interesting as Riversiders have no reason to have in-town rivalry as the team are made up of players from many different winter clubs through out the town.

Widnes west bank 28 - 22 wirral warriors

a good hard game, thought wirral where the best team we've played so far and will be some good battles between us that will be worth a watch if the games are anythink like today!! But bank march on still unbeaten....

Ashton Bears A 22 - 12 East Lancashire Vikings.

The Bears A side got back to winning ways following last weeks 34-16 loss away at the Vikings. With players returning from injury we had a more settled look about the side and quickly took the initiative. The more experienced Vikings Pennine league players from West Craven Warriors started to have an effect though and at half time the score was 12-6 to Ashton. A tense second half followed with the Vikings scoring again. Hard graft from the forwards and extra pace out wide edged Ashton back into the lead and they closed the game off with a converted try 10 mins from time. Two great games over two weekends played by two skillful and commmitted sides. Honours even so far but a very encouraging summer for the new start team at Ashton.

The result from 2 weeks ago:

Wigan Riversiders 6 West Bank 18

Riversiders operate as a summer club with players who dont play together all winter. West Bank came off a strong winter season together. It doesnt take genious to work out the rest.

Summer rugby is odd with teams being strong one week then poor the week after, take the following results within the space of 4 weeks

New Broughton 39 Wigan Riversiders 10
Wigan Riversider 46 New Broughton 6

I'd welcome any winter team who wants a crack at playing in summer.
