Happy new year Division 5ers!

How's everyone looking for tomorrow? Despite having no snow forecast all week we've had a heavy downpour this morning (still coming down now), but temps are supposed to rise a little so we're hoping it'll shift.

Going for all home wins this week. Chorley are a big set but we're hoping to get back to winning ways, not sure if Bolton will have a team(?) to travel, Rylands probably just too much for an improved Newton, Wild Boars/Eccleston should be a tasty derby - a tough one but Wild Boars have looked good all year, I'll go with Westhoughton with them being at home, and Cuthberts/Bulldogs will be another tasty derby, Cuthberts should probably take it.

Bury Broncos vs Chorley Panthers
Crosfields vs Bolton Mets
Rylands Sharks A vs Newton Storm
St Helens Wild Boars vs Eccleston Lions
Westhoughton Lions vs Widnes Tigers
Wigan St Cuthbert's A vs Wigan Bulldogs

Agree with all those predictions, except the Rylands - Newton one of course ;)

The boys are well up for tommorrow, just hope this snow b*ggers off. In warrington its stuck to grassy areas so expect it to be called off unless we get some heat / rain!! :DEPRESSED:

Westhoughton V Widnes Tigers OFF

due to the pitch, although I was in Bolton half an hour ago and there is not a drop of snow on the ground and it is soft :NAUGHTY: :NAUGHTY:

Nor would the Tigers get beat by Westhoughton. Terrible Predictions.

:)

Each to their own! Having played you both I thought Westhoughton were stronger but to be fair I know you had a load of lads missing at our place. You've certainly had some good results since but travelling always hands some advantage to the home side. BTW, their pitch is notorious for being waterlogged & a bit of a quagmire - what's the reason given for calling it off?

You'd think teams would be well up for a game, we offered westhoughton the chance to play the game at ours over xmas as theyd called it off, they refused saying they didnt want to give home advantage away, i personally am not arsed if its home or away just wanna flamin play.

if our game against Rylands is called off tomorrow, i'l go insane, cant have another saturday in with the mrs n kids.

Rylands 22-18 Newton Storm

we well and truly blew it today. 14-0 up and coasting until we started dicking about
throwing the ball around, fair play to Rylands who's forwards did very well but everyone at storm very dissapointed.

should have won but didnt, ref had a good game and although some nasty tackles tempers were kept under control too.

to top it all off i had a poop game and am now home feeling sorry for myself :(

chorleys result looks a good one, interesting to read the report. :SUBMISSION:

Bugger off. :(

Chorley came down with what looked like quite a few youngsters and in a tight game early on, ran our marker defence ragged for a spell in the first half. Our biggest lads (6'9" and 6'8") had a nightmare with the small nippy lads running round them, and while Chorley only made a couple of breaks they converted them all nicely to go 18-0 up at half time. No training or games for 7 weeks really told: mistake after mistake, dropped ball, lack of cohesion and communication cost us dear.

Honest appraisal - we were better with the ball in hand but couldn't complete sets for toffee and our defence went from awesome to horrible at times. Chorley were a smaller side today but tackled well, in fact they played a very good game and played the conditions better than we did.

Think it finished 8-22 or something.

Not to mention Chorley had 1 sent off.
