The fijians may disappear, but when they show up, christ they show up!!! Ripped us to bits last year!

Roll on the friendly with Bury a week on Saturday and the big kick off 2 weeks after that at their place

Looking forward to that (though I won't be playing :( ). How's things looking for you guys after a few ropey weeks for numbers last year mate?

The big gangly piece of granite who played at Rochdale (Netani Suka) has gone back to Aus. He even has his own Wikipedia page!!! Thank god he's gone, we kept running into him and those damn Fijians always turned up for the games against Bury with us being local.

Any thoughts on who'll win division 4 , not seen promoted hindley but i believe there a good side and Leyland will do well with all there different ringers from one week to the next.

Hindley will be up there. Not the biggest, most physical or most aggressive side, but more importantly they're very well drilled and slick on the ball; they'll hit it at pace and have pace to finish in the backs and several forwards. Their defence is also well drilled and doesn't make many bad decisions. Only lost 1 game and the most they conceded in a game all year was 20 points. They're a young side but will be better for another year together.

Rochdale can be up and down - their first choice team will be hard to beat, a big side and hard to stop, but they seem to have some players who vanish for periods of the season (apparently the Fijians disappear for weeks on end!).

We played Hindley on Saturday in a trial.

Bit of a strange game really, we fielded 27 players (not at once). Hindley seemed to have a steady 19/20 lads. I think we lost 22-14, something like that.

They don't have the biggest pack, and EVERYTHING goes throught there 13, you keep him quite and I would say you keep Hindley quiet. They have a man mountain that plays left back row, very powerful young lad (used be at Wigan apparently).

There full back from last seaon who bagged something in the region of 30+ tries has left and now plays for us.

Looking at the league they will take some beating and should go up again....however I have no doubt with our strongest 17 we would turn them over (no disrespect meant by that). Having played Saddleworth last season on a day when there 1st team didnt have a game, I think they could upset the applecart depending on who drops on them in similar circumstances.

To be honest, even the friendly isnt looking good now. We have 7 lads going to V festival that weekend. You'd think we'd still have a team...but we havnt :DEPRESSED:

I think our coach will be ringing you in the next few days to cancel. Sorry lads. :(

Yeah he spoke to our club sec last night, game off...frustrating, but know how you feel mate - a healthy squad can be down to less than a starting 13 in no time.

No worries, only a few weeks till season!! :)

dont get too worried. we missed a game a few weeks back when we realised we had about 8 injured! in mid-summer after just one game!

It was good to know early so we could get an alternative without being messed around - as it happens, we've some at V also.

on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr

We (Folly seconds) had a good run out against Widnes Tigers today, think it ended 18-16 to them with a try right on the hooter more or less. Good run out for the lads, just gutted I had to pull out in the friggin warm up
