Bhoyos racist??? No it isn't! It's neither indicative of race nor is it a fair comparison of the shortened version of someone from Pakistan that you so readily illustrate and IS offensive.
Boyos, I assume, is a mocking of a perceived dialecht, the same as shouting gerrem on saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarde when at a Hull game, or doing a "Calm down" Enfield/Whitehouse impression at Saints or Widnes - neither scousers but doesn't seem to stop people, but it's not something I would do!
Using the "racism" tag when it clearly isn't hinders the identification of the real cases of cancerous racist behaviour in our game. Use the term wisely. I don't believe you have in this instance.
I disagree, Boyos has negative connotations around here, to me it suggests all Welshmen can aspire to do nothing but mine coal and sing songs. I would say the same about referring to you lot on the other side of offa's dyke as Nigels as that would imply you are all upper class halfwits!!
Apologies to anyone called Nigel! LOL
Shouting stuff like "Hiya butt", "he's over by there mun", or "He'll tackle you now just in a minute" would be mocking speech patterns and dialect and perfectly ok in my eyes but none of the visitors have been that imaginative yet preferring to go for the easy racist "sheepshaggers" chant.

I don't understand your argument.
The use of "boyos" is a reflection on a dialecht. Not a criticism or abusive term of what you are or where you come from. The use P word to can be used as an abusive abreviation of anyone coming from Pakistan. The N word another vile term used by bigots to describe those of afro-carribean descent.
Someone saying "ey up, by eck" in a mocking tone is a p!zz take of how I speak - not what I am or where I'm from. Boyos is the same.
But it's a facile argument and detracts from the main thrust of the thread so I'll leave it there safe to say we disagree.

But I also agree that "sheepshaggers" is xenophobic and lacking in imagination (seeing as it is the insult of choice for ALL travelling fans so far this season).
It doesn't bother methough , because until someone comes up with something new and / or witty it just shows that our rivals do not have the mental wherewithal to needle us. In the pantheon of great put downs it's up / down there with "well ...... you smell!"
Unfortunately it is not fun to enter into a battle of wits with the clearly unarmed.
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

Sorry.....but I think our chant of "your prince is actually German" was neither racist, xenaphobic or unfriendly....just funny
We know you don't shag sheep.......honest
Most Welsh fans don't really care about the sheep shaggers. We just laugh at it because it's so unoriginal. Cardiff City fans have sung "1-0 to the sheepshaggers" at matches for years and our fans travel with an inflatable sheep. We join in with the joke. This isn't a fair representation of the majority of our fans, some of whom travel home and away and have a good laugh every week.
One of my old mates used to boast about being a sheepshagger (which he wasn't by the way, it's a joke!) by saying they have a man made hill in his valleys town named Abercymansychym and they'd chase the sheep there and when they tried to run back the pressure would be better!!! Sick but a joke showing we don't take it seriously.
Yorkshire News on Soccer AM is a local equivilant for the Yorkie fans, flat caps n whippets etc. We have a laugh and that's the main thing as long as it's not taken out of hand. Racist insults like p****s is!

Whilst I agree in principle,I can`t understand why people from Pakistan take exception to this, its no different to Yorkies,Limeys,Yanks,Taffs or Jocks, etc. Its a way of life, and IMHO taking the hump is p.c. gone mad.

But can you undertand wny people from Yorkshire, Lancasgire, Middlesex, Glasgow, Birmingham etc might take offence at it?

"Taffs" and "jocks" are slightly different than "Yorkies" and "Limeys", and running it close, imho.
If you have difficulty seeing the difference, consider this though: "Yorky" add "Limey" – or "boyo" for that matter – aren't generally used as a derogatory and racist term of abuse while kicking somoene's head in for having the temerity to live in the country they were born in. Pakky is.

taking exception to racist insults isn't 'political correctness gone mad' IMnaaHO. Though I can see where you'd get confused if you can't tell the difference between fellow Britons and people from a foreign country – purely on the basis of their skin colour.

Not getting into an argument over this one,as this is a rugby forum, but I will say once again I am not racist,I have two friends who are "black",but you think what you like as I don`t have to defend myself to you.
Oh,and by the way,I have never kicked anybodies head in.
