Errr... just being pedantic like - but we played the same "rugby" as was played everywhere else in the UK in 1895!

Northern Union morphed into what is now recognised as Rugby League some time after that - and it was bit by bit, not an "invention" at a given point in time! But don't let me spoil the narrative! Crack on!!!
