Nearest dog friendly beaches will be porthcawl. There are a few there but I'll check with the missus which one she takes ours to.

I'll think of a few pubs for grub and let you know.

Right:

Good pub (near the ground). Litten tree is closest pub that is airy and all done out in brass and pine. The more traditional pub practically right next door is the Brewers Arms. Either of these will give you a good crack to talk about the rugby.

Food, well we are not the culinary capital of Wales but we are well served by eateries. I'd think twice about the many takeaways, but there are Tapas bars, Italian Restaurants, Indians, pub restaurants etc all over Bridgend and most of them are pretty decent. There's a Thai or Vietnamese one quite close to the ground too.

On the weekend though, probably best to be in and out of any town centre restaurant before 10pm when the drunken fighting monkeys and their newly acquired floozies start staggering in for a pre-coital Vindaloo.

Dogs on beaches (This doesn't apply after May when dogs are banned from most local beaches) :
PORTHCAWL
Rest Bay - popular with surfers. A mile wide at least of golden sands.
The Black Ramp. Europe's ONLY tarmac beach (don't ask!!)
Trecco Bay- Next to a manky old funfair and you might get fleeced for parking if it's busy.
Nottage Bay. - Golden sands but a bit of rock and seaweed too.

SOUTHERNDOWN
Witches Point (Trwyn y gwrach). Loads to explore. Jurassic coastline; ruined manor house; prehistoric earthworks; clifftop walks and WWII sea defences used in practise for the Normandy landings. Witches Point is also a well known location for Doctor Who (In the series it is Bad Wolf Bay in the alternative universe where Rose Tyler gets stuck)

KENFIG NATURE RESERVE
Miles and miles of sand dunes, pools and a rocky beach. Recently in the news when two young air cadets and their instructors crashed into it.

MERTHYR MAWR
Miles and miles of sand dunes and a sandy beach. Bit of a smell when the wind is wrong from a local sewage treatment works (but not normally)

OGMORE BY SEA
Decent beach by an estuary. Loads of clifftop walks.

Also nature reserves galore inland. It's like dog heaven. Bridgend is not renowned for much, but you want country walks. We got THOUSANDS.

Doncaster Tiger,

Since one of your dog's got wheels, I'd suggest the Porthcawl beaches and seafront. The others might be a bit too uneven and rocky.

Alternatively you can get into Margam Park nature reserve for the price of parking only (about £2). A large estate with miles and miles of tarmac roads (a little hilly in some places but plenty of flat too). You will see the three different deer herds there and plenty of landscale.

Alternatively on a smaller similar scale there's Parc Slip nature reserve. You'll see herons, lapwings, lizards, butterflies etc .And adders if you are lucky (or unluckly depending on your view). Margam is more impressive, but Parc Slip is closer to Bridgend.

Regarding eating, Laleston is easily accessible and has the Great House and the Laleston Inn. Both good restaurants.

Nice simple fare in the town itself can be got from the Wyndham Hotel.

Hope these help and that you enjoy your visit.

I'll echo what Crusader says. Car's best for that one.

Also for food, if you're in or near the Heronston Hotel, I understand they have a decent restaurant.

I am Doncaster Tigers said nephew. Just wanted to thank everyone for their help. Much appreciated.

Is there parking near the ground, if so is there usually plenty of room if we get there 45/30 mins before kick off.

Parking - there is lots of parking around the ground, it just depends how close you want to be. Up to 1 hour before KO you will always get within a couple of hundred yaeds. After that you will struggle to park that close. Check out the ground and parking at www.breweryfieldltd.com
That will give you a good idea where everything is. Look forward to seeing you and have a safe trip.
