One thing from Saturday's game that you can feel rightly proud about and maybe take some solace in going forward, was the way your team approached the game.
Unlike some Yorkshire Pit-Village sides I could mention, like Cas, your team attempted to play footy for the full 80 minutes and kept trying throughout. No trying to slow the game down, endless spoling around the play the ball or even straighforward gamesmanship. Under the circumstances, you could ask little more from your players than the effort they clearly put in and something to take a great deal of pride from.

one thing the club understands and is absolutely right about si that the welsh like open rugby and the desire to play it even when being physically overwhelmed. Whatever people think about union the welsh team always tried to play running rugby even when getting hammered by all and sundry. In fact the welsh were the ones who reduced the forwards from 9 to 8 in pursuit of this many moons ago. Its something we need to stick to and i think we will.

Right.
Did anyone else apart from me actually go to this game???
Celtic were outclassed from the first minute right up to the last.
Seriously, I don't think the played ANY footy, they just sort of watched Leeds play and score again and again and again
I felt embarrassed for the players ....and I don't support them!!!
YES I went to the game as ive been to all home games and yes we were outclassed but that doesnt mean to say we didnt try to play open Footy like Coach Dixon has insalled in the lads from Day one ...we realise that the squad has not been up to scratch but I for one have admired the way Dixon has given that chance to the players who got us from nothin to Super league instead of just gettin rid of all of em as soon as we were in SL. I for one am not goin to slag the lads off for lack of effort cos that just aint true . We knew even if the six played on Sat we were in for a tonking but how else are we gunna learn except playin the best teams in the land and lets face it Leeds are at the moment i feel the best team in the land....I for one am lookin forward to next season as i feel we will be far better equipped to life in the SL..................and ya know for a Sharks fan you dont arf talk some tosh some times ....UP UP Cronulla

Ok.
I'm assuming you don't know an awful lot about Rugby League.
'Coach Dixon', although being an Aussie is some second rate Queenslander. You could have had Bobbie Goulding, Eric Cartman, or a small loaf of bread as your coach. Its irrelevent. Celtic were ALWAYS going to end up in superleague because the RFL decided there had to be a Welsh side in SL. 'Coach' Dixon installing in the players to play open footy?? You are having a laugh surely!! From 'Coach' Dixons results so far I suspect he is more clueless than anyone else.
You don't 'learn' from getting crushed by teams like Leeds. You learn from being COACHED by a decent COACH.
Why on earth do you think you will be better equipped next season?? If anything I think Celtic will be even worse.
If thats possible.
It saddens me really because I have a lot of time for the people of South Wales.

Mr Wind up merchant, that isn't the point, as well you know. The point was that they put real effort in and kept on going even when the tide was coming at them non-stop. Cas let more tries through a week before than did the Celtic boys, some of whom had not played at that level before. Yes, the Crusaders got a spanking, but I'm sure Dixon made it clear to the lads that it was a game for experience and not to feel downhearted at the result. I think it is great that there are genuine, non-Australian Welsh guys who actually want to play league and were willing to play their hearts out even though they will have known beforehand that the chances of a win were remote. That takes guts IMO. Good on them for giving it their best shot.

If the result of all that 'effort' was a 60 + flogging then I would hate to see the score if they hadn't tried
Leeds are a decent side. But they are hardly the Harlem Globetrotters of Rugby League are they??
Even though these replacement Celtic players have had no first team football as such there is simply no excuse for 13 blokes to ship 60 odd points against 13 other blokes. The Celtic players are allegedly 'professionals' They are paid to play footy.
Its like being an AA patrolman and not being able to fix a car. Its like someone getting a job in a trouser making factory who cant work a sewing machine. Its like an electrician who doesnt know the difference between pos and neg.
If these players can go 80 mins without even LOOKING like they might score I think its time they got another job

Clearly you haven't been keeping up to speed with the NRL of late. There's been some hefty points shifted there too. Are you saying that you Aussies can't play your league?
