I thought you performed well on your first time out, seemed to wane a bit in the second half but having had no pre season I guess that was to be expected, thought the final score was probably a little harsh on you.

agree with barrow warrior, final score harsh, some dodgy calls towards end, thought maybe 18-6 would have been a fair result, good first hit out regardless and looking forward to when you come to wigan next week, should be a good game

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Re: First time out : Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:05 pm
A real shame about the final score. I think that reflects your fitness levels rather than the Whinos' skill. Also, two tries should not have been awarded: one was a knock-on and that last one was clearly (to all but Silverwood) held up.

I see that the standard of refereeing hasn't changed.

The crowd were vocal and supportive. I hope they don't take the defeat to heart but keep coming back and that the Crusaders improve with practice to get into winning ways. With Nobby at the helm things should be brighter than last season.

Unlucky to concede that many tonight, Leeds benefited from some dubious decisions and the score flattered them. Good luck for the rest of the season. Good support as well.

With crowd support like that each week it'll be a hard place to go.

The side just looked a couple of dangerous runners short of ruffling a few feathers this year. Noble will get the side playing solid rugby league this year and that will be enough to get more wins on the board then last year.

looking forward to our trip over on the 21st feb,(hull fc), hope the fans turn out in force again

scoreline deffinatly flattered leeds, 2 tries were lucky, the 1st and 3rd, the 4th came from an incorrect play of the ball that should of been penalised, and the last, well only silverdud knows why he gave that one!

leeds got more luck in one match than we got in all of last season

That was a very good first game ruined in the end by Cummings's muppets. Well done for getting a crowd like that and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

If i was to marry, i dont know if i ought to, if i would, if i should , i'd marry a Prop's daughter, she'd go down, i'd go down, we'd all go down together, we'd be alright in the middle of the night going down together!!

Re: First time out : Sat Jan 30, 2010 12:50 am
Not gonna look at the negatives, What a fantastic performance from the team who many expect to be whipping boys against the team many expect to win a 4th Grand Final (Not me on both counts may I add). You stood upto the current SL Champions and had them worried for 65 mins, fitness level permitting it would have been longer I feel.

The end score was an injustice as others have also commented on.

Well done and a great crowd too, Good Luck for the rest of the season.

Oh yes just to mention Video Ref (Silverwood) had 1 decision to make and got it wrong, as Cilla would say
"Suprise Suprise" , wonder what the decision would have been if had been other way round and Winterstein had crashed over with Sinfield and McGuire hanging on, Yup you guessed it No Try

Re: First time out : Sat Jan 30, 2010 7:53 am
Watched last night and I have to admit that for a hour there was little to choose between the teams. I always felt that Leeds would run out winners but the final scoreline was certainly harsh.

I can't say in honesty that I felt the inclusion of Celtic Crusaders in SL was the right decision at the time but it's done now and if the turnout last night is repeated as the season progresses then the move to Wrexham may turn out to be a positive one and I'm sure that one or two Clubs won't be looking forward to the trip.
