Anyone remember the cup quarter final around 1980/81 with Alan Agar playing?
I remember going on the supporters bus, getting into the ground at the away end (it was segregated that day) and there were a bunch of Wires at the back of the stand. A 'charge' ensued and the Wire fans legged it to the front of the Bevan stand, just past the stewards, from where they exchanged 'banter' with the Wakey fans for the rest of the game.
We lost a tight game, but I don't remember the score.
I too went on the supporters bus to that one, and vividly remember a large gang of ne'er do wells at the back of the stand vociferously informing us that we were to get our "effing heads kicked in". Indeed, to our relief they were chased away by some bigger boys.
Would that be the day Tony Kemp ripped them to bits?
