Performance wise we're nowhere near IMO. We've been scrappy and got lucky with things like Drew going off injured in the first set of the game against Wakey and Orr going off in the second half at Quins...etc.
However you can only play what is in front of you and you ride your luck when you get it.
Today we'll sing about going to Wembley but we've played a poor Celtic side and been drawn against Sheffield which should be a walk in the park however when we meet Saints/Wigan...etc thats when we'll see if we are Wembley class.
Getting the results maybe what matters in the SL but if you want to be a consistent side like Leeds, Saints, Bradford and Wigan you need to do more than scrape ugly wins against sides that are unlucky with injuries.
Many neutrals say that our high flying season just shows that the Super League is losing quality with the loss of the Aussies due to our quota and federation trained players rules. On the flip side of this the rule highlights players like Galea and Vella and the league only gets quality rather than quantity, but are there team mates of the quality of the "average" Aussies that were coming over previously?
I will however more than happily take an ugly Challenge Cup Final victory, win the league leaders shield with lucky wins and win the SL Trophy with biased ref's calls!!!!!!!!
