Hardaker would have been on pretty big money at Leigh, and I’m sure they’d have offered him another year so it’s safe to say he won’t be on peanuts so there’s no way we’ll be recruiting another first choice specialist centre. The first choice back line looks finalised. For me that’s disappointing as I really think we needed some pace and strike in the centres.

It might be a bit more solid defensively but I don’t think that compares well to the likes of Salford, Leigh, Huddersfield, Leeds who will likely be competing for the play off places outside the established big boys. That’s without taking into account the ages of players like Hardaker and Briscoe and the risk of expecting them to play week in and week out.
Maybe they’ll eventually try Okunbor as a back, he’s built well for it but wouldn’t hold too much hope in that been successful. AJ Towse has also been shopped around to SL clubs and with the Myler connection can see someone like that coming in. Hard to get excited about the likely back line though for next year at all and don’t see the scope for that to change much.
