You make absolute sense and the “We love Gawwy” team you respond to just don’t get it. Hetherington no doubt a good administrator and organiser off the pitch. But look at his choices of coach since McDermott. RSmith is an extreme lite weight and has shown he has nothing new to offer. Compare him to the new coach on the block. Sam Burgess who’s coaching credentials were untested but Warrington RL had the belief and self trust to know Burgess has charisma and knows how to make players work hard which translates to great entertaining RL which spills out onto the terraces, which gets people talking, which means people say to their friends work colleagues etc “ you should come down and watch wire, it’s really entertaining, which adds money to the pot, which enables the clubs to do ground improvements AND buy better players and great coaching staff.
Warrington took on Daryl Powell based on him taking the Castleford from almost extinction to mediocrity at best BUT they were big enough to say it failed, he failed, he was the wrong man and Wire needed to make a change and that’s what dynamic-management is all about ie if it’s not working then fix it. If it is working then don’t ie Tony Smith in his pomp.
Rohan Smith had a lucky start with the CC win. It was an amazing opportunity to go on from there but he has no history, no personality and no charisma and Hetherington has yet again tried to justify yet another poor on field appointment.
Hetherington shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near coach and player acquisition. Caddick is living on past memories and sentiment if he cannot see that. But next year he will see season ticket sales fall again which means less shirts sold, less beers sold, less kick back from franchise sales, less money generally and then it will be full circle to the club being in financial abyss space.
In the past Hetherington did what many other clubs did tightened the club belt. I had dealings with him when he and his mate Ralph Rimmer were prancing around Sheffield like they owned the place and look what happened to him and the club.
Leeds will stay in mediocrity until Hetherington retires or has to stand down for personal reasons. Meanwhile the Leeds fans diminish and like many I speak to won’t renew next year as you can watch on Sky without the pain of a 1 hour drive back after an inept display on the pitch

Lucky CC win under Rohan. I must have missed that one. It does sound like you have a bit of a personal axe to grind with Hetherington which is maybe why this post seems a touch on the ranty side. Think most fair minded folk would recognise the tremendous things GH has done for the club. However, that does not absolve him in terms of responsibility for appointments post 2015, and the time has clearly come for a Director of Rugby. Again in fairness that was something he himself recognised when he appointed Sinfield in that position. He just never followed through on a successor.

he still has to get the ok from above.
I'm not sure you know how a D.O.R. works.
True and they may have been way down the table if they hadn't signed those expensive players..I'm not convinced we need a DOR because i think the coach should be the one who signs the players.

Haha just what I would expect from the PC woke brigade if you don’t like the post attempt to undermine it with a soft insult. But I will take that one. At least it’s not the Hetherington enforcer brigade trying to justify every inept decision he makes.

I will leave the site now and look for a less censored forum.

Why is it that those who seem most comfortable dishing out criticism to others seem to be the most delicate of flowers when their opinions are challenged? I'm sure he will return time.

They go on about cancel culture and free speech a-lot aswell.
Anyone who resorts to use “Woke” as an insult has nothing valid in any argument, but thats me then being intolerant to their views the PC and Wokeness in me means i should listen and respect their views no matter how bats**t they are!

At the end of the day, a sequence of high-level decisions on coaches and players has been poor for a very long time, and GH ultimately is in charge of this either directly or by proxy.

Whereas it's true that the club know better than 99% of us (maybe 100%), it's also true that in terms of delivering results the club has failed miserably and consistently for too long. I'm hoping that with AMT on board we might see another couple of signings in the Croft/Ackers mould for 2025; and maybe we will start to look like a top side again. We have to act this season though: 2025 is the Year of No Excuses for me; we should have recovered the position post-COVID and new stadium, the youth system is starting to generate again. If we can't regularly beat sides with a quarter of our resources, it's time for change at the very top nevermind coaches.

The woke thing is utterly baffling. I am woke, I want to be woke, I want my kids to be woke, my grandkids to be woke. Woke is GOOD by it's very definition! Why they use it as an insult is perplexing and I can only conclude they have no concept of the true meaning.

Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.

We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.

But you’ve got to keep believing.

Time and time again we see people complaining about woke and snowflakes being the biggest, most easily offended snowflakes going. It's amazing really.
