If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

No. Not a chance.

I couldn't give up on the sport entirely, but I really don't think I could passionately, in fact I know I couldn't follow another team.

I'd probably just stick to attending minor nation internationals, and take up dogging.

in 10 years, assuming SL existed it would be the best supported team in the league.

If things carry on as they are, Hull won't support 2 teams and one will go. Or of course to quote the delectable baby spice "when two become one"

I don't want it, but I see the future of the game having merged teams.

I'd say no but may venture down once the pain had gone, It would take a lot of doing tho, as it would probably use the KC, Hull Fans would still wear the last shirt of the unmerged team, sit in the same seat as they did before and in all honesty it would end up being called Hull regardless of what moniker it officially took. Crowds would initially drop and I'm not sure the it would end up being all that different to a relatively successful FC side

A merged team would be less than the sum of its parts. The attendance would probably be about the same as Hull get now and it wouldn't be any more successful than Hull or Rovers have been individually.

I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell

I would never attend, the way the game is been run now I would fully give up on SL. I would subscribe to Premier sports(have done in the past), follow the NRL and local amateur teams.

I think you would get a couple of teams formed from the very bottom similar to Fc united of Manchester, owned and controlled by fans. East hull Kingston rovers and West Hull FC probably. That is where I'd go if it happened, cramped around a field on Rosemead street as opposed to selling your soul and supporting a merger. The 2 clubs don't have much going for them at present, but to lose the rivalry and uniqueness of that would be a travesty for RL in this country.
Can this city support 2 teams? Yes! Poor coaching over the last couple of years shouldn't mask the potential of both clubs. However us cutting our cloth accordingly over the last couple of years has been shrewd, and allowed damage limitation financially until money comes in/crowds go up/continued success.
