Well with a strong looking side we didn't even compete ... so it ain't gonna get much better.
The fact is we have got worse as the season has progressed.
But you can't say so ... ooh no!
So how is our coach any good presiding over this mish-mash?
The Hull connection has not worked.

Exactly, top point that needs answering, why cant that side compete and why have we got worse as season progressed.

But as always no one will answer that question.

Another poor result, players swapped in and out at the bequest of our Humberside overlords, I was quite surprised not to see Horne on the BBC coverage of Hull vs Saints. I don't mind us signing players from Hull, Leeds, Cas anywhere in fact but they need to be OUR players, not the ones Hull need getting fit. They need to train with our lads all the time and be fully integrated into the Dons, not just johnny come lately on a Thursday and get a starting spot.

We have had this "arrangement" for a number of years now and it consistently failed to improved The Dons, we've blamed the coaches (3 now Cooke, Thornton and now Horne) all have failed to deliver, Thornton seems to be doing ok at Hunslet and while he had his critics them seem a better side us on paper and on the pitch. Coaches have changed, were consistently told we have a large playing budget, we mysteriously miss out on rumoured signings. We will never escape this division as long as we don't have a settled side that is made up of players who to want to wear the blue and gold. I know a lot of fans will take this as negative but we are slowly losing our identity and becoming nothing more than Hull White Star (as my Dad has stated on these forums).

Time to reclaim our identity, time to sever this relationship with Hull that is holding us back. If that means Horne returns to his "full-time job" so be it there are other coaches out there.

We may well be worse without the lads from Hull, but at least they will be ours and we can build not just players who we all know wont be here next week/year.

I dont even blame the coach, successive coaches have failed to deliver under the Club Doncaster structure, the last one who had any success was Paul Cooke and I feel retrospectively he had the rug pulled out from him after the promotion season and wasnt given the funding he needed to make us a stable team in the Championship. Then we started down the dark road of Dual Reg and we've never been right since.

that paragraph seems about right Steve and sums up everything since that good season we had with PC.
it has got to be how it is structured we are getting a pattern appearing now the same under different coaches.
As i said in the other post its seems strange and Hunslet are now flying at the moment.

Club doncaster desperately need to alter and get some money in for decent players and stop this DR which is showing
it just disrupts the team balance, spirit and cohesion, of which there must be NON.

Well we have the perfect game next week against Keighley ...
Lose it and then Bradford and Worky and I think heads will roll.
Hopefully a win, but it looks like morale is shot to pieces.
We don't have a grasp on the quality needed in this division and are continually playing too many ordinary players.
You can't get promoted on a shoestring.
Even though keeping an even keel and keeping in the black is vital ... if that means you can only afford tat then what's the point.
How do other clubs do it?

Did think looking at the fixtures that we would have a 4 game losing run at least, i hope it can be turned around but we arn’t at the races with the quality and style of play but what do i know as a doom and gloom merchant

There was a very evident lack of togetherness and team spirit today.

We continue to be lacking in attacking structure and creativity.

Defensively we are far too brittle to be promotion contenders.

That is not doom n gloom, just a realistic view of where, sadly we are right now.

I think we will soon be at the point where quality will want to be away ...
Just a feeling ...

You can't have notable passengers in a side and expect the quality lads to graft their balls off to make up the shortfall.

The seeds were there from the off!

Does anyone have any idea what the 'five year plan' currently is ?

Maybe the plan is to rely on an iffy DR agreement ? Maybe there is no Plan B ?

There wasnt a plan A nevermind a plan B, we had a great coach and player in Paul Cooke who had gotten together a team and i think he was led down the garden path regards investment budget and a 5 year plan, shouldnt we be knocking on the door of superleague by now if it existed
