Exciting stuff - but very frustrating to see us come out in the 2nd half looking like, quite literally, a different team; we were absolutely bossing it in the 2nd half, to the point that Wire had to resort to cheating to get out of their own half and slow the game down - Hill in particular should hang his head for that feigned injury under the sticks; and Ratchford took old-manning the ref to a new level. It's almost too obvious to say that if we'd played like that from kick-off, we'd have walked away with a decent sized win and been pretty much safe in the top 8. Hey ho.

Interestingly, at half time, I said if this carries on, it'll be a cricket score, and my son said "we'll bounce back - it'll be a 2 point game." I thought he was joking - turns out he knows more about RL than I do!

top 4 out of reach now - only top 8 is a goal now!

with that in mind we must and must beat widness next week - where is our other win???? catlans.?

if we don't beat widnes next week it is massive trouble this will be our biggest game this season now.

League Weekly has Arona sin binned on 76 minutes. Did I miss this whilst my attention was diverted trying to avoid a heart attack at our comeback ? They had one in the bin after the team warning - Akaouloa.

WAKEFIELD TRINITY - The PRIDE of Sporting Wakefield

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

Re: Warrington this sudnay/monday for me : Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:09 am
Team warning was a joke. During that little spell, they should have had a man sent for a professional foul on Tupou who was held down for ages on their line whilst their players got back. Penalty awarded but player should have gone. Then next set he put them on a team warning, and the very next tackle he should have sent another one for holding down but just let them get away with it.
Then the actual sin-binning was ridiculously harsh, given that it was centre field and was for a high tackle that looked soft at the very worst and not for anything to do with why he'd warned them previously.
Some of his decisions were appalling.

How the game goes, said exactly the same against Huddersfield at Magic Weekend.

You can't give any team an 18 point head start, played some very exciting rugby and cannot wait for the highlights to be out so I can watch some of the tries again.

Doesn't do anything for our league position though. I would have said a win yesterday and a win against Widnes would have almost secured us in the top 8.

I would agree overall - I thought he got old-manned and was very inconsistent with his decisions; but the sin-binning was legit, because it was an offence that immediately followed the team warning - that's a sin-bin, regardless of the offence.

I thought Wire were very cynical in the second half, and got away with most of it; that said, we gave them an 18 point start because we were dreadful - that's a big mountain to climb, which to the players credit, they almost managed.

Just thinking back, for Wood's first try our kicker was smacked late way after the kick - could that have been penalty try? Or is it only if the scoring player is fouled?

Clutching at straws ofcourse but interested in the rule.

Just watched the highlights on Super League Fans and Ratchford's pass to Charnley is a yard forward and the return from Charnley after which Ratchford scores is two yards forward. That said if you give a team that much start you can't really expect to win. Worst display of gamesmanship in second half that I have ever seen and in 58 years of watching the mighty Trin I've seen some rubbish. Roger Milward's trip on David Smith was bad but at least he got penalised for that.

We weren't great but for me we didn't give them a start they were just better than us.
We conceded penalties by trying to slow them down.

The second half came because our efforts in the first half with the big men wore them down. It's a good tactic but we weren't disciplined in the first half to really make it work and they exploited it.
They also kicked a penalty nearly on half way. That was the difference.
