Why cant we have the amber irregular hoops every year? Saints always have a red vee on every kit design and that works well.
Oh I agree there's no reason not to have them every year but I can see why they might want to go away from tradition now and then, didn't wigan have a policy of 2 years traditional with one year non traditional, I don't have a massive issue with that.
Making cash is fine with me but choosing an obscure date instead of the 150th anniversary of the foundation club and the laziness/sloppiness of the design is just poor commercial decision making - and I think that probably ends up ultimately at Rob Oates' door.
I know you can't have blue and amber irregular hoops every shirt, but a club truly in tune with its fanbase and its history would know what works and what doesn't. And wouldn't try and create a heritage event whilst forgetting about a genuine anniversary and simultaneously trying to shift a heritage shirt which has no element of heritage to it. Give half the people on this messageboard ten minutes to sensibly feed back opinion on any of the above and they'd get a better steer of what would work than seems to have been the case here.
I have no problem with the club trying to generate some much needed cash at this financially difficult time. But if they want us to part with a substantial lump of cash, when many are already feeling the pinch, the product needs to be very good. To me this offering isn't, simple as.
P.S. I wish they'd give the shirt design job to Christopher

I think it would be great to do a fans competition every so often to design a kit
I'd imagine (hope) that Leeds had already got plans to have a traditional type shirt next year to honour the 60th anniversary of the first Championship win which means they wouldn't want to duplicate it with this heritage shirt, but why not use a quartered design which I believe was the original shirt design and the one we used as the centenary shirt in 1995 IIRC.

Unless the one I have been shown is not what they have gone with, it isn't traditional. Its very nice actually, although see how it looks with the real thing.
