Same as we finished in the league tables then.

Not that we ever had any chance of being in the 12 but would any of us have been any happier with the system itself if we had been any higher, say close to qualifying?

Didn't expect much from this but how the gradings can have any credibility when a club like Newcastle, relegated last year, who attempted and quickly failed to go full time, and have now pulled out of the league can be ranked substantially higher, presumably just because where they are/were located. Not surprised by the Bradford ranking, but again a club who don't own their own ground, history of financial mismanagement and with very limited recent on field success ranked above Featherstone who beat them hands down on all the above criteria. And while I've no real love for London, that looks as though they're relegated before a ball is kicked. Some change is obviously needed to try and save a sport that's on its knees - very sad that actual performance on the field seems to have so little importance attached to it.

I think been closer would have made it worse as now we can just sit back and laugh at what a mess it is where as it would have been a lot easier to be more invested in it if we were somewhere near. We can sit back and watch the meltdowns.

I'd love to see a full comparison of ours compared to Newcastle especially given we are way above them on the league placings average and just see how they best us so easily taking that in to account. I'm struggling to work out the areas that they have beat us on other than location. I know our finances are not meant to be great but have to be better than a team that can no longer afford to continue?

Yep but like you said most if not all of us knew we wouldn’t be close enough anyways and in some form or other it will back to the Shay or nowt for me next season.

For the rest, those who are in will be for it, those who aren’t won’t be and those who could be maybe.

It’s this fallout and meltdowns that are potentially massive, there will be some short term reactions but some that will take a big longer to show up which I’ll be watching with some interest.

When the final rankings are established I wonder which cat B club will be the first to instigate legal proceedings?

None. Clubs are not allowed to take legal action over the ruling body and even if they were then the ruling body would simply not admit them in to the league going forward. It's their ball and you only get to play with it if they want you to.

Not sure how that would stand up legally if a club did go down that route but it would undoubtedly be messy for all concerned

Vicious circle isn't it? Can’t do anything about proximity to other clubs. Stadium is a non starter (why would anyone want to buy the shay..). Finances and fan engagement are interlinked. How can you sell a club that for the long foreseeable future is stuck in the same league, playing the same teams with no hope of progressing upwards…? And let’s not start in the errors - wrong club badges, cas, Bradford above fev, crap to deal…. Killed it hasn’t it?
