| Quote Mild Rover="Mild Rover"The Tories and their allies have done a wonderful job of framing Labour as simultaneously being a bunch of dangerous leftist radicals and the defenders of a failing and out touch liberal establishment, while distancing themselves from the last decade of Tory-led government under performance. From a presentational POV it is kinda brilliant.
If I was offering Labour a you-can-sum-up-in-three-words policy, it’d be ‘end child poverty’ (one more syllable than is ideal and ending it is always going to be an aspiration, but as Rashford showed only the most massive twunts are cool with kids being hungry).'"
All the average joe had to do was listen to labour's front bench ,Gardiner ,Ashworth ,Abbott,Thornberry ,Burgon at al to make up their mind ,if you could vote for that cabinet the more fool you and your ilk

Most would agree with that if their parents were sacrificing everything else to feed/cloth their kids then something needs to be done - but when you see parents swopping food vouchers for cigs/alcohol then it would suggest that behavioural change is needed. If you pump more money in will the kids get fed better have better clothes or will their parents use the money for alternative pleasures.
The minimum wage has never been higher and continues to rise above inflation - in theory lower paid should have more disposable income. Supermarkets continue to lower prices to compete with Aldi which again must be a positive? How much cheaper do clothes need to be than Primark to cloth your kids adequately?
How many people who use food banks actually have no other means of feeding themselves? For me and we have had many discussions on here this is about priorities and getting them in the correct order.
I would suggest there are far more potential voters suffering due to the performance of the NHS during the pandemic and perhaps these are people who are more likely to vote also.

So what would be your three word, four beat opposition response to Build Back Better? From a purely political, election-fighting/winning perspective? I mean, that is sodding alliterative! Massive challenge. Although I suppose they could divert resources from their policy group because nobody cares anymore.

| Quote The Ghost of '99="The Ghost of '99"A bit of a stretch to say the candidate was "from London" when they've lived in the north east for 30 years.
Anyway onto the next by election. I gifted my second preference to the Labour candidate for W Yorkshire mayor, the second time i've cast a vote for that party. They ultimately won triggering a by election in Batley and Spen. That I think would be closer to call than Hartlepool - Labour just won more votes there in the local elections and 17% of votes went for Lib Dems and Greens that they can potentially seek to squeeze.'"
Labour will win Batley and Spen at a canter

One is a bunch of near crooks who are doling out billions of pounds of money to their donors and friends.
The other comprises people of lesser and greater talents but with no indication they are in it for anything other than pursuing policy goals.
It helps if you don't read the right wing press, as I fear you may, because you're likely to get a somewhat jaundiced view of the world through that. Remember when they painted Ed Miliband, perhaps the most inoffensive politician imaginable, as some sort of commie, Britain-hating radical? It would be funny if so many people didn't form their opinions from these sources.

Or read the left wing press such as the New Statesman, Mirror or Socialist Worker who portrayed Theresa May as the baby eating bishop of Bath and Wells. Works both ways.

Funnily enough I dont read newspaper's, I watch quite a lot of political and news programs though ,enough to form my own opinion and I have no need to copy left wing scribes work and try and pass it as my own opinion which seems to happen on here ,the same left wing scribes who are turning the working man away from the labour party

You think "left wing scribes" (I honestly couldn't name one? That bloke who writes about politics for the Daily Mirror maybe?) are driving the "working man" away from Labour?
I really don't think they have that much influence - indeed the only reason you'd think they did if some left wing nutter says something which gets amplified by the frothy-mouth brigade on the right.
The press people actually consume and which sets the agenda in this country is wildly right wing.

I think the likes of Owen Jones, Grace Blackely, Ash - I shag like a hooker - Sarkar and the whole Novara/Momentum crew do alienate the normal working man - these are very privileged very well paid individuals looking down on the common man and basically saying to them "you must be stupid because you don't think like I do" - a bit like the left leaners on here.
This is the voice of young Labour - not sure how sitting in your posh flat in Shoreditch helps you relate to the average voter in Hartlepool?
