My contracts due up on my iphone (18 month) and im looking for a new deal and phone (prefer a blackberry) i currently pay £35 a month with O2 and get something like 600 mins and 600 texts and free internet. I want to cut my monthly bill down to £20 and get all the above what i was getting with the £35 deal.



Anyone got something similar with anyone else?

Due for an upgrade and looking at my first foray into a smartphone. I can get the N97 mini for free, any good?



And stupid question alert: Does 500MB mobile internet and webmail mean I get a certain amount of internet before I get charged any more than my monthly payment? If so, just how much is that then?

Sounds like it is a few software patches from being a very good phone. Be interested to know how it goes? Do you mind reporting back once you've had some experience? Cheers.

The Xperia X10 does look pretty cool. I've not had a phone for a couple of years now after moving to a company phone. The Mrs wants to get an iphone, for no other reason than that they are 'the best phones'. But looking at the adverts for the Xperia, it seems a lot better than the iphone software, which is terribly dated an in need of updating.

I've decided that i'm going to go for the HTC desire on Virgin mobile £20 P/M 300 minutes 3000 texts, unlimited internet and free calls to other Virgin phones + £149 for the phone. I'm hoping to get a better deal out of them though as i want to take out another contract phone for the missus (she wants a Blackberry) aswell as internet, TV and landline.

Phone arrived today but haven't really had chance to use it yet as I have no idea how it works.

Have had chance to have a play around now and can say that it is actually a lot easier to use than I thought. It appears bulky but isn't in the slightest.



One major problem I can see is that the screen gets dirty very quickly (to be expected with a touch screen i guess)

Got the Nokia X6 yesterday



Have to say I'm quite impressed, it's very quick and the camera is really good (obviously helped with the Carl Zeiss lens)



One thing the guy in the shop mentioned (he also had the phone) was that if you download music to it, its best to leave it for 20mins or so (if you're downloading a lot) to allow it to load everything correctly. Otherwise it may crash.



Overall a good phone and so far i haven't found a problem

O2 are doing Blackberry 9700- free handset - 300 mins - unlimited texts - for £25pm.

Then they try to charge you and extra £7.50per month for the internet but are currently running with cash back schemes depending on duration of contract.

So my 24 month contract i get creddited on my 3rd bill £180 = the value of the internet.

At the beginning of May I ordered my daughter a Blackberry Curve at £20 a month, unlimited data and texts and 300 mins a month on Orange via the Carphone Warehouse web site - their web site advertised it at that price but when you tried to purchase the deal it stuck a £5 a month "bolt-on" to the price which you couldn't opt out of - so I rang them and a rather nice chap fiddled about for an hour and rang me back with the deal at £24.95 - always worth speaking to a human.

Reet guys, had enough of CPW and their contract so looking to go direct with Orange. If i take a recent bill in from them, will they be able to transfer me over straight away or will i have to go through the usual guff?
