Oh, but you do. The only difference being the theological interpretation of the nature and God and the nature of Christ*. I'll use the "my God has a son" example - Islam sees Christ as a holy person, a prophet on the same level as Mohammed, sent by God to spread the Holy Word. They also believe Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to him. They don't believe he was the son of God, nor do they believe he was crucified, but raised to heaven by God. And yet those two slight differences are part of the reason why we have had Islam and Christanity scrapping with each other for decades.

So, basically, Christ told people to not be d*cks to each other whilst mere mortals came out with all sorts of other claptrap to try and keep control over people. *I'm aware there's some other theological differences as well, but that shows the problem with man-made belief structures. Amazing how an idea, the idea of a god/creator, can be twisted from the original point so much.

A rather convincing case was made by pastor Don Rousou that your personal interpretation of this passage is completely wrong, as the passage has been mistranslated and is just plain wrong. Apparently, this is all due to a simple mistranslation of the Greek verb "authentein".



I think it is more sad than funny that your view half the population of the planet as unfit to preach etc., turns out to be based on a dodgy translation. Oh well, maybe you'll now see the joke and let your long-suffering missus have a bash in your pulpit, eh?
