| There's a global labour shortage, so a higher minimum wage maybe the stimulus needed to alleviate that.
As for spending on climate change? It's the biggest issue we face, and will have the biggest affect on our lives and the world economy in the years ahead. So, we need to be approaching it with the same ferocity we did with covid and ww2.

| Quote Zoo Zoo Boom="Zoo Zoo Boom"It would appear Labour haven't learned any lessons - £15hr is bonkers - how is this affordable wouldn't this simply lead to rampant inflation. Minimum wage in Germany is lower than here and we consider them the most efficient organised economy in the EU.
£28bn a year on climate change - seriously!!
Less said about a Cervix the better - I cannot believe this is an even been discussed - no male has a cervix like no female has a penis - these are not difficult concepts. Surely Labour have better stuff to discuss?'"
Labour's spending plans always seem to be portrayed a "stupid" and unaffordable.
However, with climate change, there will be a tipping point at some point in the future. We may already be there and then money wont be the problem.
My mum always said that money is no use to you when you're dead and she was right !
Labour really need to concentrate on being united and having some policies for the masses.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
Right now, they seem incapable of organising the proverbial brewery pi$$ up

Climate change only works if its a global endeavour no point us bankrupting every citizen when the likes of China/India & the US don't care. Whilst ever we make policies due to NIMBY like fracking we will never achieve sustainable reliable energy. The likes of wind and solar are unpredictable at best irresponsible at worst. I fail to see why we don't go all in with nuclear?

I agree, although wind and solar aren't quite as "unpredictable" as you suggest.
As for nuclear, it's incredible that after so much time "we" havent been able to find a way of dealing with nuclear waste
China and India are a huge problem.
Despite being huge nations with over a billion people in each country, they are still "developing" nations and their thirst for energy is still growing quickly and it's difficult for countries like the US or Europe to tell them to cut their emissions and effectively try to "hold them back". The same, to a much lesser extent, applies to Africa.

| The UK's historical greenhouse gas emissions dwarf that of China and India, plus China is a world leader in renewable energy, and climate change technologies. It has also ceased all overseas funding of coal power stations.
Investing in climate change isn't just about renewable energy, it's about improving transport infrastructure, job creation, flood defence, and sustainable agriculture. All of which will have benefits beyond reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

I assume you're aware that for political equilibrium, there will also be a hard right.
So, I wonder where they are? Which party do they migrate towards - and what damage have they done to the UK in recent years?

I'm talking purely about the Labour party ,your kind of socialism has been dead in this country since the late seventies
and quite rightly you know been beholden to the unions, we could never be a Norway type of a socialist country unfortunately

| Or the businesses wanting to give less or are you naive enough to believe that this government is not going to water down employment rights. The unions are actually probably more democratic and the reason many don’t like them is because they cannot be bullied unlike one individual worker.
I have seen where because of those that are part of a union negotiating better conditions and then people like you who like to criticise are happy to accept the benefits despite not contributing.
It’s a pity their pay awards are not handled the same way that those of business leaders are.

| That would explain a lot about you because it was the Nottinghamshire miners who believed Thatcher and became her enablers, how did that end up. How many pits survived in the Nottinghamshire area and what happened to the union they started with the governments help. They were sold down the river for believing she actually cared.
I would ask why were the government so insistent on not putting current EU employment law into U.K. law like they said they would. If you think it is to make them stronger then you are more a fool than I already think you are.

Since Cilla Black passed away, they have been looking for a new matchmaker, you should apply.
Myself and Scarlett may share some of the same political views but, disappointingly for you, we dont know each other.
I know that you have some kind of unhealthy obsession with his private life but, bloody hell, this is becoming a little tiresome. Dont you think.
Enjoy your moment. Brexit is "done" and Boris is "in charge", what more could you possibly wish for

Given the current state of the labour market the idea that you could dilute employees T&Cs is a complete no runner. The idea that the Tories are going to dilute working conditions is a red herring from the left.
The unions would be useful organisations if they were able to concentrate on the job in hand working to improve workers opportunities. Unfortunately they see pushing the political ambitions as their prime objective. There is also an element of self interest for the union employees - look at Unite T&Cs for union employees. They also have a problem of a collective positioning i.e. they cannot deal with an individual issue without considering the impact on completely unrelated businesses. If a decision on one business would be ideal but set a negative precedence elsewhere the union will not support it.

There are 1.25m vacancies - I would suggest if firms want to retain decent staff the opposite will happen - increases in rates of pay Amazon starting is £11.50/hour - better benefits. The market will determine the level not the unions.
