| Quote Fully="Fully"I think it's more a case of after his first season he was a marked man. Matterson tended to push him into the middle more this season and he really didn't have the same impact as running down the right channel like he normally does.
Generally, when he plays down there he does well - Harlequins away was a perfect example of this. Although, I know he is deeply disappointed by his form this season, but I don't see why. He's a Cas lad and he will be forgiven for making mistakes. After all he is young too.'"
I think the above is all very true, whats more that head injury seemed to shake him up quite abit (understandably) i think joe will kick on again next year.

One is the better at some things than the other which is to be expected.

| I like Fergie big time, and in the past have been sick to the back teeth of listening to how good Westerman is, but any of my fellow Wakefield fans who think Westerman is Crap need to wire their testicles up to a truck battery. FFS that kid has bags of talent, and IMHO for most part of what I have seen this year was played too much down the middle, more so because of that pillock from new zealand you bought.
Westerman is a massive talent, and needs to develop in a way that suits his style, and will kick on next year IMO. I dont think he will ever be another Paul Sculthorpe, but he will be better than Lockers, Sinfield, Wilkin, Purdem, and Langley.

| I think he'll reach about the same level as Sinfield.
Sinfield gets bagged but wasnt he something like Leeds' youngest captain to take them to a final, problem being at Int. lvl he's simply not big enough and is basically a failed standoff but if JW becomes within 25% of the player Sinfield is he'll be a top player.
I really like him but he's a different type of player than Ferguson, i'd personally rather have JW, classier.

More or less spot on with that post. He needs a class coach and class players around him before he can reach the heights of Sculthorpe in my opinion. Worrying comparison with Sculthorpe at Westys age was he wasn,t used as a 35 tackles a match, take it up down the middle forward. He played a lot of his early career from stand off (from memory). That's got to be a help developing skills. At the moment Westy isn't getting the chance.

| I remember Sculthorpe as a kid at Warry and if I remember correctly he was used quite wide as you saw with Westerman last year.
I can definately see a comparison between the two although Scully was probably a bit more aggresive defensively if memory serves me right, it was a loong time ago..I was about 10

| What's Westerman's natural position? 6, 13 or second row?
To me he looks like a 13 but I only see him on Sky and not every week.
Fergi is an out and out second rower so you can't really compare them. Both excellent young players who should have been in the England train on squad, not to play but just for the experence.
