Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

Oh dear indeed. The Brigantes were a pre-Roman tribal grouping that actually spanned virtually the whole of northern England, with most of their substantial settlements (and capital) in Yorkshire, so there is no particular reason to connect Wigan to them over any other northern place. In fact, the north-west was pretty much a write off as far as the Romans were concerned - York was the highest ranking settlement. Hell, even Castleford was more important than Wigan.
There's some irony that this little cheer squad of theirs effectively celebrates Yorkshire dominance. I've tried to point this out on their board but they don't seem to have the wit to comprehend

...and Leeds isn't exactly a hotbed for Rhinoceroses either. Seems to me it doesn't really matter what groups decide to call themselves. As long as they're having a good time, not doing anyone any harm, and livening up the atmosphere at matches it's all good for me.
Don't you think you're taking your analysis just a little bit deeper than it really deserves?

Fat, slow, stubborn and grumpy. Leeds has plenty of history of Rhinoceroses, thank you very much.

| The game against Wigan was like a warm memory from last year! A typical game from last season during our 'patchy' spell (most of the season!)
You couldn't fault our effort, people made the yards, tackles were made, half breaks were made, chances were bombed and the kicking game was poor. We hung onto the coat-tails whilst never really looking threatening.
If it would have been against weaker opponents we probably would have won, by plenty. But Wigan played it smart, targeted our flanks then built a lead and went through the motions. Their final kick play was always deep and kept us in our own half. Played Wigan. Plenty to think about for Leeds.
