Very sad to hear. A truly great player I was fortunate enough to see. Absolutely one of my heroes when I was a kid.

I remember Les making his first team debut and being amazed by his speed strength and balance, which caused all kinds of problems for the opposition.
One of those rare players who you always expected would do something special when he got the ball.
In that respect I have to class him with the likes of Atky, whose debut was similarly impressive and Rob Burrow.
RIP Les. Such fond memories of a great talent.

A truly magic player to watch . Will never forget his partnership with Atky - when they broke the line you knew no one would catch them . They were joy to watch . Along with Syd , my favourite centre of all time . RIP.

Watched him from 73 onwards. Great player. As others have said his partnership with JA was as good as it gets. RIP
