Very pleased with the effort today. If Myler had played today we would have one. Can't abide the ball stealing rule.

I thought broadbent did great. Tetevano too. We need players back but there was far more good than bad in that. We kept a cas side that murdered wire last week pretty much in their box

I was expecting a cricket score before the game so fairly pleased.It shows they really work for each other. Broadbent was put under alot of pressure but soaked it up and produced a great ball for the try. Plenty of pluses and plenty of good players still to come in.

Or a hurrell to punch a hole or two out wide. You're right - we weren't that far off

We'd have won that match if we had half a back line, hopefully we can get Myler back at least and give us a chance for a few weeks until we get some players back

Hall did really well considering, and I thought T.Briscoe did well working with him jamming in with him and giving him help

Again I thought our pack played well and I'm llooking forward to seeing what a decent strength back line could do behind them

Onwards and upwards

Strange feeling as we all hate losing, but can’t fault the effort today.

Broadbent all class, Tetevano, well, that’s why he’s marquee, and thought Alex Sutcliffe was outstanding in one on one defence.



Few daft errors cut out, and not getting pinged every time we seemed to pin Cas in their own 20, and we win that.



Was frightened for Corey after the first 20, but second half the kid tackled everything, pleased for him.

Good performance in the circumstances, thought all the young lads really got stuck in again.



Annoyed with some stupidity from some senior players at crucial moments but that’s us all over.



Still think we need at least one more enforcer in the pack. We need a big horrible thing.



Overall, given where we are at, very pleased with that.

Newman in the wing for me for next year or two at least , just has not got enough handling skill for a centre, Broadbent has hands.

Anyone know if Mik got injured?

Great effort from the lads today, really had a go.



The 6 again Tom Briscoe gave away just before there last try was a back breaker, really stupid from him, thought we were getting on top of them at that point.

Much better second half and plenty of effort.

Cas will be disappointed they haven’t put us to the sword today - they should have.

Smith has to start. We look a much better team with him in it.

A mistake to play Hall, but he was better in the second half.

Tom Briscoe had a shocker, actually cost us the game.

He’s finished tbh. Not a threat anymore.

Gale clearly isn’t fit. He was poor again today, but we have no back up we can play.

Pack looks pretty solid and competed well against a strong pack.

Broadbent and A Sutcliffe were both very good.

I’d be tempted to play them both on the wing when Hurrell and Newman are back!!

But we should be worried about the amount of missed tackles.

We should have got hammered today really.

And I really don’t like the new ball steal rule.

Just don’t feel like it adds to the game.

Another game where the pack looked solid and still holroyd to come back Not sure who'll make way for him.



Actually thought after a messy first 20 hall did ok.Clearly looks young but wasnt overpowered that much.



Once we have 2 decent half backs on the pitch we'll start to attack better.

I actually would give a bit of a shout out to Alex Mellor, he gets a lot of stick but i thought he ran hard today and played well.

Overall whilst disappointing to lose I thought we played well, certainly more positives than negatives, just need to be smarter in attack.

Tetevano is an absolute beast too.

Mellor was much more effective today, cant say the same about martin. Holroyd/king when eithers ready need to come in for Donaldson as things stand, too many steady industrious back rowers not enough impact with the ball. Tetevano, Mik and Prior all very good but the middle drops off as theres nothing backing it up off the bench to keep the levels up. Looking forward to seeing Tetevano off the back of not having to do as much of the heavy lifting in yardage to make the most of his threat with the ball.

Game was done as soon as Briscoe gave that pen away I agree.



Broadbent looked great - it's got talent!

Yeah I’m not convinced with Mellor still but thought he was solid today.



I usually stick up for T Briscoe but not keen on that performance from him. Tindall already offers more going forward, but his positional play / D looked poor last year.



I would be lining up Broadbent to play left centre, and Newman on the right going forward. Jack’s been MoM or close to it three games in a row, has to keep a place in the side if fit.

Im a fan of Donaldson but not sure he added anything today, would like to see what King offers instead



Bit worried about Oledski, did he get on in the second half hope he’s not picked up an injury

Mellor much better, too much run sideways running from Martin. I would bring in Walters for Donaldson.

Although I think the club has turned the corner massively from our slump, we have a lot of decisions to make this year to really kick on.

If and its a big if, Eastmind works out he will add a lot yo the team, we’re just missing that little bit of pace snd class in the halfbacks



I think we’ll go ok if we can get some players back

When fit I would play Newman at left centre. That is his true position and he should get a proper shot at it and not be stuck on the wing. There will plenty of chances for Broadbent covering centre, wing and full back over the next 18 months or so. Think a winger with real speed is a priority recruitment wise. It's been left alone for a couple of years now because we've had other priorities, but next year is the time.

Tindal has pace to burn great feet he needs to be given a chance this year. I would give m his chance when we have a our first choice centres back.

I’m not convinced longer term about our back row with Mellor and Martin. They don’t give enough punch imo. Mellor needs to improve a heck of a lot imo and sharpish. Needs a big season
