Fans forums are hilarious at times in how fans perceive players qualities
So Kevin Proctor is apparently average?
Whilst we also apparently have no better prop at the club currently than Singleton?
So we shouldn't sign Proctor but should have kept Singleton?
I was firmly in the Singleton camp during his academy days despite his lack of size as both he and Daniel Smith both looked like future SL stars when they dished the treatment out each week and both looked like being dominant players at that level
IMO but whilst in SL then Singleton looked good when he came off the bench after Peacock and Kylie had done their destructive work, although he never had hardly any impact on games when both of these players had retired and when he had to step up as a starting prop and had to try to replicate both of his predecessors work in wearing sides down,But as a starting player?
IMO Singleton could be a very useful addition to Wigan whilst coming off the bench but not as a starting player,As he clearly needs players to do the hard work before he can look good at this level
Personally speaking I'd much rather have Mik Oledzski, Matt Prior and Tom Holroyd before Singleton as a starting prop and I would also like proctor over Martin as a back rower quality wise..But what do i know?

Not really, making false claims on behalf of Brad Singleton contributes about as much as saying Beau Falloon is a club legend.
Sure, you can claim it's an opinion, but don't expect the opinion to be taken seriously.

You don't have to take my opinions seriously, of course not. No obligation to take anyones opinion seriously.
Sometimes we gain more insight from other people's comments, and the process of looking at things from a different angle is never a bad thing. We can then revise our own opinions, or not. But your 'opinion' is just that. Also depends what you are talking about. You may not agree with my opinion on Singo, but do agree on other Rhino's points. A more realistic picture develops by accumulating info from different posters.
Jeez it was early for that, but even had my coffee yet....

| To be fair to Singo he had a good few decent games in '17 too but imo never really lived up to his potential. As others have said, he is not a starting prop but a good support prop

| Watkins has a blinder at the weekend. Still the best English centre by a country mile. Why oh why did we ditch him in first place, or not try to resign him?

| Harry Newman, you know the young player that over took him in the pecking order also had a blinding game at the weekend.
Watkins is a great guy and if he can regain his fitness and form is a great player, but he’s gone and at the time it was the right move for player and club, we have one of the best young players in the game replacing him, that is a massive positive for the future of the club, you need to move on

| Agar saying he doesn't want Sutcliffe to leave. Hurrell saying Sutcliffe is staying.
Hoping he leaves, but with Myler getting a new deal it looks like we could be getting yet another new deal coming up.
More seriously bad retention.

| Sutcliffe is contracted for next year, not much we can do if no other club is wanting to pay a fee and we shouldn’t be letting contracted players leave for free if at all possible.
I’ve no issue with him seeing out his contract, but then I think he’s a decent player who gets way too much stick on here.

| If the Cas interest is true and they're looking for a replacement for Shenton, the last few games may give them a nudge to put an offer in. Im not a huge fan of Suttcliffe but he is a solid , thought he was pretty good there at the at the back end of 2017 and while covering Hurrell recently. Like chris, iv no issue with him seeing out his contract if a decent offer dosnt come in.
Would really hope at that time, with Hurrell and Suttcliffe off contract end of nxt season ...A Suttcliffe or preferably Jack Broadbent would be pushing to start opposite Newman, with Corey Hall not too far off aswel.

I like Watkins, but he is nowhere near. Harry Newman is far better, Gildart, Percival, Griffin, Toby King all better at the moment. Yes he played well but he will never be the player he was for us. Newman is our now prodigy centre.

| Garry Schofield was also a brilliant Centre for us, should we get him back too?
Let go of the past and embrace the future. We should be playing more kids now, there will be no other season like this for having a free hit....

I wouldn't have Watkins back, but he still has a lot to offer and I'm confident he'll get back to being the best centre in the comp. Even at 70% of his best, he's better than the other centres listed above.

Percival is made of biscuits Gildart is decent but Griffin & King wont ever be as good as Watkins if Watkins played on one leg he'd still way above both those.

| Watkins is miles ahead of the other English centres. He's fully recovered from his serious injury now.
I thought it was incredible how little faith the club and fans showed in him, yet seem to have endless patience with Ward et al...

Watkins was scheduled to become a marquee player - he definitely wasn't worth marquee money by then and his departure completely transformed our salary cap position to enable all the other squad changes - much needed retentions as well as recruitment - that have got us back to a respectable place in the league.
It was pretty brutal but effective and fully justified by comparing where we are now to then.
Also just a couple of weeks ago you were complaining that Leeds management was "too soft". Which is it, or does it depend on whether it involves players you have a soft spot for?

So by that rationale Hurrell is worth marquee money. OK..
