Promotion/relegation screwed us. The panic buys to stay up killed us with salary cap and quota spots. Instead of having a bad season and investing in the future we had to do what we had to do to stay up. Admittedly we probably shouldn't have been in that situation anyway but the sport needs to get rid of relegation. We aren't football and we don't have the resources. It seems like we retain it to keep Keighley and Featherstone happy.

Theres a few that have gone missing, sure they'll be back out in full force when we lose to Wakey on boxing day

Hopefully this means we won't see Myler partnering Frawley (or Gannon) in the halves too much next season

For next season all I want is for us to play to our potential, cut out the silly losses from huge brain farts and be more consistent.

Clearly the latest sponsorship deal has given us funds to spend on players and on class players.

I wouldn`t be at all surprised to hear the signing of Ackers tipped Crofts decision to sign as they both get on well and like Croft has stated Salford is a tight knit set up.

If our next signing is not as much of a statement signing maybe we might be bringing Ormandroyd back!

Given what he’s said I’d be surprised if it was anyone else after Keiran Hudson, but I’ll take that

I know people don't like projects but I'd back Smith's judgement for a rotation prop. I don't think anyone was particularly excited by McDonnell, and Ruan looks like he could be an asset with more experience. If he fills out he could move to the front row as well.

No I think it would be an Eseh or another young lad from someone else's academy at this stage. People can debate over whether Goudemand is a proper prop or not, but with 2x injuries to our front line 4, we are into poor/risky options very quickly. Our own academy props are maybe 2-3 years off first grade if they make the cut.



If we don't sign anyone else we can probably cope; but depth at prop is a weakness and we've overloaded the second row which IMO is a mistake. We'll see how it pans out, every season brings the unexpected...



Other than that it's a case of how fast our academy outside backs develop and whether we retain Fus and Newman but that's a problem for next time.

We really ought to get an enforcer prop who does not give away penalty’s but can protect the team from the housery of Catalan etc.
