As for Frawley, I'm on board now. As a single signing it didn't make much sense as at the time it felt like he was going to be our big new halfback. Croft changes that completely, and we'll need Frawley to act as the controlling half to let others do their thing as well.'"
Agreed. Don't think he'll our best or most exciting player, but in some ways he'll be the most vital. He landed yesterday and I really hope he can flourish at HQ and get the best out Croft, Miller, Newman and Fusitua.Would also love to see Gannon really kick on this year - he's probably not in the first choice 17 at the moment, but he has the potential to be easily the best second row at the club, and that's just for starters.

| Any one else slightly disappointed with the lack of media output in the two weeks since pre season began?
I'm sure last season we had weekly videos released of behind the scenes training? All I've seen this year is a clip of Oledski playing on Xbox (?) and a few photos from Roundhay Park training.
Admittedly I'm not on Insta or Snapchat, is there more on there?

He was on 650k Aussie dollars at the Warrior's roughly £325k per season, who moves to the other side of the world for a pay cut? At 200k a season he was down 125k a season, you can buy a lot of Rhubarb for that kind of money.

As this forums premier supplier of the fruit, you should know. As others have painstakingly tried to explain, the Warriors tipped in a large chunk (not an uncommon occurrence) of his wage whilst at Leeds. He's on a new contract now and this will be far more in line with rates for SL wingers. If he wants an extension he'll have to earn it, but to suggest he's some kind of no hoper says more about your judgement than his ability.

| Apparently Hudson is smashing the first two weeks of training. Leading the weights sessions and really setting standards.
Goudemand definitely signed to play as a middle not as a backrow. Plenty of players who have been moved out were distractions last year and RS making a really big play on culture in preseason this time.

| A mate of mine is a Cas season ticket holder for many years, tells me Hudson is good, big potential. They were gutted to lose him

| Someone asked earlier who we were most looking forward to watching. For me the front rowers are up there. If they get it right then we'll likely have a very good side, and not just for one season. Barring major injuries the rest of the side ought to hold its own but I'm hoping the props rampage some.

We really need to get lucky with this sort of signing if we are to close the gap on Wigan, Saints etc. Otherwise we'll be utilising another overseas (or marquee) spot on a prop for 25. Always a risky option. Let's hope Hudson is the one that pays off.

I've not once said he's a no hoper that's your spin I was exited by the signing as he was top drawer in the Nrl but since his arrival he's been like an injury prone not as talented twin brother on a massive wage and cap space and his value for money is joke its this that kind of imbalance of pay I just don't understand when we can't afford to keep club trained players.

In that case why not just get behind a player who's had a rough trot? Even without a really consistent run of games behind him he's scored 15 from 31, a decent strike rate for a right winger. It's not as if he has blocked or blocking any club trained wingers as yet. If we had a young Ryan Hall at the age of 20 of 21 it might be different.

I struggle to understand the point you are trying to make on this. Yeah he was top class in the NRL, he got some injuries and lost form and he came to SL with the warriors picking up a large chunk of his salary. If he was playing like he was 5 years ago he wouldn’t be in SL would he, he would be tearing it up in the NRL. So we know his salary was initially part funded via the warriors so not sure why you think he would have been on a massive wage? We don’t know what his current wage is but given his injuries with us I don’t imagine it is top level as he wouldn’t get that in the NRL or SL, we have no young wingers coming through our system he is blocking, there are limited top quality British wingers or outside backs around. Yes he gets injuries but he is a good player if he is fit.
Not sure who the club trained players we aren’t able to afford to keep are to be honest. Who were you thinking of when you posted?
