Not quite. They will have a 'visit' type visa for 'visiting sportsmen'. That said for "visits" of less than 6 months Australians and New Zealanders do not need a visa to enter the UK. An Immigration Officer can refuse entry on arrival if they consider the individual to be an 'undesirable'.
