It is too easy to be somewhat disappointed by the performance over the last three weeks and last night in particular.



Any genuine Saints fan who appreciates good fast open rugby must be concerned at the recent demise of our team.



But let's not allow that to prevent us from giving some credit to an understrength Giants side.



In a previous era if we had sent a 'reserve' side to Wigan at the height of their form we would have be generous with our praise if they had done so well.



So two related points:-



1..Well done Huddersfield - you did yourselves pround.



2..Not good enough Saints - you have some important matches coming up and a vast improvement is neeeded.

I can give credit to their fullback, who looks like a real talent (good news for the England team of the future?) and for the enthusiasm of the rest of Hudds young players, but I would be patronising them if I were to say that they were outstanding. They weren't. It was us that were terrible. Had we played as we are capable of playing, we would have taken them apart in that second half. As is, we just nilled them (and that was with us playing seriously badly).



Incidentally, that's in complete contrast to how I felt after watching the CC semi where even though we were sill playing poorly, we could have easily lost even at our best because Hudds played us at our own game and their coach did the job on ours.

One season wonders, be a team fihgting to be in the top 8 next season, this sort of thing happens now N then in SL. No team with Leroy Cudjoe in it can sustain anything.

oh right then do you care to explain the Leroy comment please???

I thought Cudjoe looked pretty threatening and, dare I say it for a winger, clever in defence. The thing about Hudds is they will always 'shock' a Saints side from time to time so I read little in to the last 2 games against them.
