| Mistakes are always more obvious on the wing and at full-back.
I honestly don't think Swifty helps his cause by consistently beating himself up after an error.
I mentioned Luke Gale's performances on the VT and the fact that his form is currently excellent. When Gale makes a mistake he just puts it behind him and carries on.
He doesn't stand there shouting at himself for five minutes.

| Agree with Mugwump on the nature of Swift's mistakes, they always seem more noticeable and as a result gets slated for it. But he always picks himself up from them. He's always putting his hand up to do work when trying to get out our half, he runs himself into the ground for the club.
Didn't he only get taken on late? I think he knows he shouldn't take it for granted and as a result gives 100% all the time.
His try scoring record is brilliant, I love having him and Tommy on the wings because they'll always give 100% and I think we'll see them as our wingers for some time yet.

It's certainly brilliant - given the minimal quantity of ball both have seen lately.

Tommy put some timber on during his spell out injured. He looks like he's struggling with fitness but he was out a long time. Hopefully he will hit full fitness for the semis

Yeah I agree, Swift's work rate has been very good this year. He comes up with the occasional howler but it's a trade off I'm happy to make, especially with his pace. Yeah at u19s level he was still on pay as you play for some time, he played as a stand off too from what I remember of him dancing past me to score.

I reckon Swifty could play wing, full back and running stand off with the confidence he has gained this season, good work rate he's worked hard on his game this year.

I've not seen any indication his passing is good enough to play fullback or stand off (running stand off or not). I really rate him as a winger but it's very rare his decision making with the ball gets challenged there. I wouldn't mind seeing it out of curiosity with him maybe at fullback in a friendly, but if Saints haven't entertained the possibility yet, there's probably a good reason for it.

| 50 tries in 68 games for Swift. 87 tries in 118 games for Makinson.
Not bad at all.
