Evans had a bit of a cult following. I liked him. Always seemed to have his better games against high profile props. I think I remember him having a stormer againts Cas in a Prelimery Challenge Cup game, when they had Kevin Ward playing. He had his moments when he couldn't be d, but lets be honest, that was typical of the majority of Saints players around that time.

Evans wasnt all that bad and from all accounts he was a hard bloke and took no crap.I think a lot of the problem stemmed from not getting him fit enough or coaching him well enough,i seem to remember his debut and him having no clue about playing the ball after being tackled,if he wasnt taught the basics well then there was little hope for him.
