Few surprise names we're snapping up.'"
Very positive news IMO. I recall a game at Odsal v Swinton (do correct if I have this wrong) where he created problems all afternoon.

Quote Bullseye="Bullseye"Well if you look at other sports then having some international club competition is seen as a benefit when attracting coverage and sponsorship. Now we're a million miles off this in RL so a couple of French clubs in SL is probably the best we can do at the moment. If we want to attract blue chip sponsors and not Foxy Bingo and Marrowfat Peas/Big Soup then we need to show we're not just a sport played by thick working class northerners.
Having Toulouse in the elite comp with Catalans helps give the game a less parochial look.'"
45000 empty seats at Wembley exploded that myth for me. I don't quite get the RL's acute embarrassment at its own support base. There's something of the modern Labour party about it all.
I think this is interesting;
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/no-he ... per-league
Let's see what happens on Saturday night but at some point we need some evidence, i.e sold out stadiums with 'new' fans and TV deals increasing because of the draw of Les Catalans outside the heartland.

| He's a big strong lad who can make in impact. Think he's had a spell on loan at Dewsbury too IIRC.

| Without tempting fate, or getting ahead of ourselves, it does look like we are addressing our short comings this year.
Needed an extra half back, we got Patton.
Needed some strike out wide, we got Gill.
Needed some impact in the forwards, we got Kibula.
Hopefully more to come.

They're good signs. The other thing to address is the poor attitude to what some of the team perceive as "lesser teams" where we don't bother to turn up. It's happened increasingly this season and needs to stop.

100% agree with that. Especially during games. The attitude of "we're doing well here, pat ourselves on the back and then concede two tries 5 mins before HT" attitude.
To be fair Kear did mention it after the Batley defeat and our defence for the year. Hopefully with a more normal pre-season he can really get stuck into them.

| Do you guys think Kibula will be a replacement for Scurr.
It's been rumoured that we (Hull FC) are looking to bring him in. How would you think he would go in SL?

I was hoping he was a replacement for Levy and the matongo would be a replacement for Scurr to sweeten the deal. I think either way we will lose Scurr this year.
I think he will do fine in SL. Still very raw but looks good and has the talent which will only be brought on in a full time outfit. Similar to matty storton joining KR last season from us, and Bentley etc etc

Thanks for that. Storton has been a great pick up for Rovers.
Masi seems a nice kid, but I think that'd his problem. For a guy his size he doesn't run his weight.

Oh dear. Alas there is no known cure for Karl Pryce disease.

Scurr will do well in SL at the right club. In a fully professional environment. He may be shorter than your average forward but he's tough and plays well above his weight.
