Much as it pains me to say anything good about the bloke I've nothing bad to say about his on field work or attitude. We were in the top four when he got crocked and then plummeted after he left. The fact we had no suitable back-up is down to us and his disgraceful conduct after he returned to Australia to recuperate will, of course, be to his eternal shame and down to him alone.

Interestingly on the Giants forum one poster seems to think Rick Stone has stopped the signings of Gaskell Clough and Ferguson. Seems to think Ferguson is off to Wakey now and he is trying to stop the recruitment of Gaskell and Clough.

As Fartown Giants weren't relegated, I don't think there's a legal way they can back out of signing them unless they are injured and can't play, so not sure how they can do this. They could be encouraging them to talk to other clubs, but if they can't get a good gig anywhere else, looks like they might be fringe players. If the rumour that Clough and Gaskell refused to play late last season, some teams might not be too keen to take them on. Gaskell especially has fallen a long way from the end of last season.

That's Gaskell released then. If not today, just wait a week or two and he'll be crocked again.



As far as Orford goes, by attitude I was very much referring to the attitude after he got injured and the crap it put us through. Not when he was actually on the pitch at the start of the season. I've heard numerous accounts of his mental state and such, but I've never heard one that didn't make me think he totally stitched us up.

I think that's harsh on Danny Addy. Here is a guy who had stuck with us through thin and thinner, always did his best. Eventually got the number 13 shirt he had coveted and then hardly ever played there because of other peoples idiotic decisions, and to our knowledge did it uncomplainingly to support the needs of the team. I for one won't be booing him.

If a player has done his best and played his contract out, then he's done all that we have the right to expect and he should to leave with our blessing and thanks, imo.



These blokes aren't 'fans' , they're guys doing a job and like the rest of us are allowed to put their, and their families, interest first. It's a short life in pro sport and I'll blame no-one, who does things in a proper manner, for maximising what they get. The day we, as a group of fans, go down the "FC reject" route would be a cold day in hell and to our eternal shame, as far as I'm concerned.

Whilst I get the idea of giving them some stick to try and put them off their game, I'm not convinced it works anyway.

Adam Walker was the example given, and he played very well for Scotland against a far superior Aussie team. If anything, the boos just fired him up to play better.



Since it can go either way, I'd much rather pay respect to the efforts put in when they played for us. Especially those that did graft like Donno & Addy. People like Gaskell & Clough, the way they've (allegedly) handled themselves recently, I'm all for giving some stick to.

If Gaskell doesn't go to Hudds I hope is recent number of appearances will be taken into account by any club signing him.

Latest on the Hudds 3 in League Express this week is that Huddersfield are already offering them around other clubs. Not sure if they have already arrived at the Giants but it looks like they have "signed" despite no official announcement.

Feel sorry for Ferguson is that's the case, I'm sure he will get a deal elsewhere if he chooses to.



As for Gaskell and Clough, it's surely their dream move... paid but not being played?

Agree - Ferguson deserves better. Suspect it might be too late/too expensive to offer him a 2017 deal, but it would be nice.



On Gaskell and Clough, I wonder if that attitude has gotten back to Stone, hence the deal going south.
