Looking at the plans, the gap on the Western side (to the right of what would be the new North Stand) is being 'filled in' with corporate boxes? Good idea that, as well as the obvious revenue streams it'll help with keep the atmos' in.

It is the housing for the floodlights so they match with the stand, That plus they will have wind turbines on them for power generation.

There as also solar panels on the roof for the same reason.

Infact the amount of them we are using (If the drawings are correct) could well mean seeing as the majority of the place is only going to be used for parts of the day 3/4 times a week that the Electricy board may end up owning us money as they will be gathering power 7 days a week (I know how much power the floodlight use BTW but that is once a week and I would like to see the figures).

I think you get let off a certain percentage of your tax as well for getting them installed. I'm sure I've read that somewhere.



Makes you wonder why there isn't a country-wide sports initiative to get them at all large stadia. Like you say, the amount they're actually used for the sport themselves, they could actually add to the National Grid and earn sports some money!

Are they Solar panals or photovoltaics, at the moment you can get a good return on PV's from the energy companies which is guarenteed for 25 yrs.

Edit- Yes PV's plus a biomass boiler and rain water collectors for pitch watering etc.



It seems if all that happens that they are actually trying to make this as efficient as possible as by my reconing that means waste that is produced (Food, grass cuttings from the pitch etc) will be used for heat (I think that is how it works), Water bills will shrink/vanish and we may possibly have the national grid paying us.
