| That was a cracker and long time coming in a tame world cup to date. I would have liked a shock but not sure the refs call was particularly dubious. I'm sure that NZ need to up their game a hell of a lot to beat the aussies.
And now here's hoping for a Samoa v tonga belter.

| Quote UllFC="UllFC"Yep the 5k in 2013 was in Wrexham for Australia-USA as Wales completely flopped and spoilt the script of having a Quarter final at home.
Huddersfield may be the games birthplace and its a good ground but the Town just doesnt turn out for RL. Debate to be had if booking these big grounds is worth it. 8k in Craven Park, Salford, Halifax etc would look fuller for TV.'"
A friend of mine attempted to get tickets online a day or two before the game - the system was saying there were no tickets available! Not sure why but I can only imagine it’s because there wasn’t time to post them out. Not sure if e-tickets are available or not- If that’s the case it’s madness!

| Watched the England v Spain wheelchair rugby earlier, that was one brutish game. Hats off to all the wheelchair players, they take some knocks during a game.
Had 2 cheeky £5 bets on Tonga v Samoa, both came in and now £51 to the better, plus a great game to watch.

| Cracking game this afternoon, I hope there were lots of Southerners watching who fancy a ticket for next week.
The level of interest amongst rugby league fans (like RLFANS.com) is a pretty low one, and so if its on telly we don't sell the tickets. We need to see some full stadiums for the last 3 mens games, from what I have seen, we are not even close to selling out a game this tournament.
That game today should fill any rugby league stadium in the world, but we can't get the crowds in this hemisphere, and the NRL blocks the fixtures even being organised in the other hemisphere.

| England v Canada women in rugby union had a higher attendance than any rugby league World Cup game so far bar the opener
It was also played in a country with no affinity to either team.

Also played in a country where rugby union is the national sport. Plus you forgot to mention that the semi final was a double header which also had the host nation playing.

And while the Team this time round have had it tougher with the years delay, I dont recall 2013 being some economic paradise either and the team back then was far smaller than 2021. Questions have to be asked about the organisation of this tournament. The only saving grace is likely they have made more money due to higher average price of tickets.

and we've already had 28 games.
The three extra might get us to 400k which isn't too bad, but as other have said, this cup has not been very well organised at all. The turn out for Kiwis v Fiji and Aussie v Lebanon was shocking. World class sport on the doorstep and 7,000 of the 18,000 regular FC/HKR fans rock up, whilst 20 miles from Leeds or Manchester was deemed too far for the tens of thousands of RL fans to consider going to Huddersfield to see the stars of the NRL.
Pay on the gate would have been a good fall-back option they could've introduced once it became obvious that uptake wasn't as good as expected.

At least one stand unreserved at non England, non semi and Final games would have been good too, some like the flexibility of turning up and sitting with mates who have booked seperately. Also usually helps the atmosphere at people get there early to get a good seat.

I think they've just split the blocks, those at the front are still the higher bracket, the ones right at the back are the lower ones. The maps are for guidance rather than being 100% and it's hard (unless you've been watching day to day) to tell if this has changed or was always like that.
We do know they have been tinkering with prices though, albeit not half as much as I would have liked.

| Price drops make me feel silly for buying in advance, such poor organisation.
When I bought my tickets for the semi about a year and a half ago I was told we couldn't select a section in the ground, and I have been allocated seats somewhere I don't particularly want to sit, right now I can go on the website and buy 4 tickets in the block I prefer.
I think the message I am being sent is "Don't buy tickets in advance!"

It would have been far better to have a system where you can pick the seats you want (like they have already for the challenge cup final), it was a worry knowing that I'd paid £70 for a ticket for the semi and final and could have been at on row A beneath pitch level at old Trafford!
