Finch was so unpopular with the Roosters fans during his time there, that it is inconceivable that the club would want him back.

This move isnt panic stricken, there was always going to be a clean out this year after 2 years of mis-management under Hagan. Finch was hooked last week, told he had no future at the club and bitched about it.



Regards to Hayne, the experiment would have been worth continuing with. He has the skill set and the ability to make it at 6 with a decent 7. Finch is a 200 game veteran who has proved time after time that he cannot be the key playmaker and decision maker on the field. He can only play second fiddle. The amount of $'s he is on he needed to step up, and has failed. No one doubts his commitment, but proffesional sport isnt about getting gold stars for trying, its about results.



As for my comment on behalf of Eels fans, go check LU Eels page. We rarely agree there, but this is the first time I have seen everyone agree this is for the best.



Oh, and Garry Freeman? Please Dally, have you heard the other e that comes out of his mouth? easily the worst 'expert' in world rugby league. Laurie Daley is also a personal friend of B. Finch.

The whole squad was put on notice, Hindmarsh has not been signalled out. It is beleived that Finch and Cayless copped special notice due to their inflated salaries that they should look elsewhere if they do not perform as 300K + players.

No, but the term LONG and SUCCESFUL post Anderson is a poor argument. He'd already had a long and succesful career before departing NZ.



The bloke had played 240 NRL and 40 odd tests prior to leaving the warriors. Dally was implying that his best football came post 2005.



The Eels were left in a Shambles by Hagan, poor recruitment, poor retention and a worrying culture crept into the club. A clean up is needed, and Anderson is the man to do that. Some will shape up, others will ship out.



He will rattle a few people, usually the ones that arent performing. Anderson is ahead of time getting rid of Finch. 2009 is a rebuilding year for the Eels. I'm happy that Finch is gone and we can look to the future already. Plus we have some coin to throw at the market next year.

Can't be any worse than having Finch in the halves - he is a non entity - why has he played 200 games - simple because there is a distinct lack of half backs of any quality - when Greg Bird gets selected at 6 for SOO you know you are struggling. Or turn it on its head if Finch is so good how did Bird get selected before him?
