think it was so it didnt clash with the televised game.

ie people could watch the giants game then go and watch the TV game or have the rest of sunday to do other things ??

Cas got 5'500. And we were playing a Championship side. I'd have thought the Wigan and Wakey game would have attracted more.

not sure how many Rochdale fans were there today but i doubt it was anything to write home about.

As long as it's practically possible, the SL sides should always be given the away draw when playing against lower league opposition.

That is riding high in the championship, playing well and had a good chance of beating their high flying neighbour.

But my views still stand on the Wakey/Wigan match. It's a pretty bad attendance, even if it was on TV.

Pretty much the same crowd as when we played there in the league. Wakey don't get many fans. Simple as really.

The league match a fortnight ago only attracted 5,521.

Perhaps, and here's a crazy thought, people have decided that there they would rather do something other than watch a "likely" tonking in the Challenge Cup?



RL clubs are operating in competitive leisure / entertainment markets. Sometimes, those of us who don't let RL rule our lives, might decide to do something else.



The biggest factor "blamed" for poor crowds in these sorts of games has been ticket prices but to be honest, the NL clubs are as much to blame here. There have been plenty of cup games where Leeds (for example) have wanted to run ticket price promotions to attract a crowd against lesser opposition in the past, only for the visiting club (who are entitled to 50% of ticket sales profit) to insist on full-prices.

Absolutely disgraceful thinking that, imagine wanting to do something other than watch a RL match? Shame on you.

How many did Rochdale take? Radio Leeds said approximately 4 people.

Did he say 'er' today or 'he's a big strong lad' or 'going for the line'?How come he and Davies have been seperated anyway.Talking in class?

I'd guess there's also the small matter of not clashing with Rochdale (roundball) playing Gillingham in the League 1 playoffs. It's on Sky now... go on you Gills!



BTW, for anyone watching it - is it me or are Rochdale wearing last season's Cas shirts?

If Fax hadn't brought a few thousand it would have been a poorer gate than the Wakey match, and we were on TV straight after the LUFC game.



Still Wakey is good enough to live in even if you cant be assed to support the side!!

And if Wigan hadn't brought their support to BV then your attendance would have been even worse.









Obviously the team isn't good enough to support though. And a large portion of the city seems to agree with me.

Indeed, that why we are behind Cas in the table aren't we? Oh yes, 6 - 35.

Aye, it's a fringe benefit of your coach being a Cas fan. He knows his favourite team inside out.

Saints on TV and with no travelling fans managed over 7,000.

Least it's a change from Quins getting slagged off for poor attendances

And how many FC fans made the effort today? Ah right the same as Quins fans did...
