| Quote robinrovers10="robinrovers10"Come on David, I thought you were a fountain of knowledge all things Hull KR, you spout enough rhubarb on our forum to give that impression. I will help you out on this little dilemma that you seem to have.
Mitch Clark- Born in Pontefract
Zach Dockar-Clay- Grandad born in Hull, British passport.
Keiran Moss- Mum born in England
Andrew Heffernan- Maltese Passport
Jake Fleming- Australian Passport
Adam Quinlan- Australian passport
Bobby Blair- Australian passport
Justin Carney- Australian passport
Mose Masoe- Samoan passport- (KOLPAK agreement)
So that makes 4 players with an "oversees" quota place, the rest is complicated but still stands regards employment.
To be fair, the fact Heffernans granddad was born in Malta, but moved to Aussie as a youth really does make a mockery of the fact we can dodge a bullet regarding quota eligibility.'"
I've explained all this to you before Ronnie. Passports and where you're born don't matter anymore, it's whether they're classed as Federation (RLEF) or Non-Federation trained. You're allowed 7 of the latter. Of course, the RFL can also grant special dispensation.

I've also tried, but it's pointless as he isn't bright enough to understand the non fed rule, so they must have got special dispensation for one of their current non fed players so they can have 9 overseas players, I suppose it shows how desperate they are to get back into SL.

As you know Moss has dispensation due to the Bradford debacle so that leaves us with 8. I'm not sure how we've managed to get that many but to get Masoe to help our push means I couldn't give a rats ass tbh.

I think the overseas players signed from Bradford during our most recent period of admin/liquidation were granted exemptions from all quotas, basically to help them find employment at another club easier.
Kieren Moss will definitely fall under this bracket, and maybe Mitch Clark too (although technically they had signed Clark before the sh*t hit the fan and the exemptions were granted).

I think they did similar for the Crusaders at the time, and also granted dispensation to oversees players already here when the Non-Fed rules got brought in (2008?). At the time, I recall it was a max of 7 quota and 7 non-fed, but the "quota" part has since been removed a few years ago.
Ironically, it was clubs like Rovers which forced the changing of the rules by taking the pi£$ out of the original quota restrictions via passports (Vella, Galea etc). I'm sure in 2007 they had 11 or 12

Ok. The point still stands though doesn't it, whoever the players were that you somehow squeezed under the quota. You tried to get round the rules, and the rules were changed.
10 years on and nothings improved that much at Rovers, still bending the rules and relying on dispensation.

Mitch Clark was born in Britain, therefore holds a British passport so does not count on the quota.

Rely heavily?
Talanoa, Tuimavave, Fonua, Michaels, Manu, Kelly, Minichiello
So 7 out of 28/29 players we have used this year - hardly a heavy reliance.

What about dispensation for matongo, must be something there. At the end of the day, you're trying to say rovers use way more overseas players then others and we need them. Yes we do need them like every other club, but we have a couple who probably won't play when the 8s start.

Ahh, another example of a Rovers fan knowing absolutely nothing about the Non-Fed rules.
Let me say this again sloooowly for you Moxi. FEDERATION TRAINED. Hull FC are in the RLEF Federation and Masi Matongo has been registered at Hull a number of years. It has nothing to do with whether he was born in Harare or Hull, or what his passport says.

This is getting tiresome.
Masi's nationality, passport or birthplace has NOTHING to do with the Fed/Non-Fed rules. Also, just because he was born in Zimbabwe doesn't mean he's not a British National, but that's another point & not relevant in this discussion.
Do us all a favour Moxi and read the rules will you? Here they are, all you got to do is click the link and go to section 14. media.therfl.co.uk/docs/Section% ... %20PDF.pdf

| At the moment, rovers have the best youngsters in the city, the likes of: Oakes, Cator, jubb, Wardill, Moran, Harris, Lawler and Marsh. FC have no one near the quality we have. Keep hold of the likes of them and we won't need to rely on too many overseas players in the future.
