Racism is pernicious, we have come a long way as a society but still have a long way to go. I'm surprised at some of these posts, especially on an open forum.

Not really - Yankees are New Yorkers. Americans from other states use the term. This may have been OK internationally in earlier decades when we didn't know much about USA. Nowadays it would be like calling all Brits 'Cockneys'.

I was in a meeting with a Deep South conservative recently and he was telling me about a time he was near the US Embassy in London. A large crowd was demonstrating and chanting “Yankees Out”. He said he felt like joining in. Lol.
