Some of the Wigan tackling to the legs (when the player is held) were horrific. The big HKR Aussie took so much stick. The game needs to be reviewed very carefully and suspensions should be handed out. One funny thing was the last few minutes when Wigan stopped lying on top and slowing things down. They almost leapt off the tackled HKR players in a bid to save precious seconds. The refffing was (once again) very very weak. I'm so pleased Wigan are out ... frankly they are a disgrace to the game.

I think we all agree on that. more importantly, any comments on the photograph? The fact is when you go in to the 'tackle' with your forearm and elbow at head height, there is only one real intention.

Does someone's leg or even legs have to break for a cannonball tackle to be called?. The amount of cannonballs with a verdict of "no charge" is laughable.

The initial tackle on the HKR player was high and and rightly penalised but his arm was wrapped around and came up into Farrells face. Look at the photo Farrell is actually behind the HKR player pulling him towards his own try line.

I wonder if the RFL match committee will review the high shot of MM on Farrell and impose a ban for a high shot. No difference with the exception it was on his own player!

b-a team mate of the thug gets carted off in agony having taken a cheap shot intended for an opposing player

c-he smashes the would be opponenent to the deck in fair tackle

d-he steals the ball and runs the length of the pitch to score the match winning try...

The problem with Wigan is they're trying to play tough man rough em up rugby and the fact is.... Their team isn't big enough to do it.



They'll fire out in the first 20 minutes and if you can give it them back just as hard or harder, they have no plan B whatsoever and the toys start coming out the pram.

It's EXTREMELY rare I laugh at injuries, but I must admit, a smile played across my lips on hearing that Farrell has suffered concussion and a broken hooter, after Cackybumbum's act of "unintentional" thuggery. I hope Messrs Cackybumbum and Apeman realise the repercussions of the former's actions.

Was Powell suspended at all in any way?

No he wasn't even cited. During the match Silverwood made a point and said that Powell's tackle wasn't a cannonball. The penalty was for coming in late after the ref had said held.
