I've made this trip my stag doo. 14 lads staying in the Gothic Point Hostel in the centre of Barcelona. Flying out on the thursday and coming back on the monday.

I know your Wire fans but I thought I'd help out.



Just got back from Barca and I stayed in Kabul backpackers hostel. Its just off la Ramblas and its one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Dead central and its got a great atmosphere. If your up for a good time its a proper party hostel. Dead safe as well and only £20 a night. Plus it had Bradford vs Leeds on as I walked in despite being mostly Americans and Aussies staying there.



If your in Barca watch the prostitutes on La Ramblas, they've got a little trick where they try and entice you (by grabbing certain areas) but you manage to get past. Then though they pretend to chase after you and as they do so they've got a little move where they check your front and back pocket in one foul swoop. They'll especially be on the lookout for groups of lads.



Other than that cracking city, perfect for RL!

oh yes, experienced that in 07, saw them as soon as we came out the pub so all 4 of us walked through the swarm with our hands well stuck in our pockets.

Yeah, if there was ever a tip for Barcelona thats it. Keep your hands in your pockets where you've got wallets/phones.

what is your view on having the game in the barca olympic stadium which i believe holds 55k i'm pleased with it being played in spain just for the jolly but the grounds a bit big!! 10 seats each then

$hitty stadium, gotta climb a big hill to get to it. Should have been at the Mini Nou (15000 seater)

I've been told that Barca can be a bit costly, can anyone reccomend any bars/pubs/clubs on or near the ramblas that are pretty reasonable?

Try the local places that are off the main roads.

Barca is like any other major city in europe

im going on the Friday with Monarch at 08:00 and staying at a 4star hotel something Palace i think. not too sure though because my m8 has booked it so im not 100% sure on all the details

I have just had an email from Ryan air saying the return flight on the Monday has been moved to early morning. Is any one using Reus airport to get back home? If so what would be the best way to get their from the Barcelona city centre. I'm thinking find a bus route.

How come people are flying to Reus, it's easier and cheaper to fly to Barcelona Airport.

our flight back on Sunday has been brought forward from midday to 09:50 - that's looking like a big ask after a serious night on the town.



might have to book a different flight, but no doubt will cost a fair bit more.
