Just watch the highlights of the try's we scored against Leigh the other year in the cup. Fast flowing rugby with players hitting dummy lines, face balls, men out the back, second rowers and combining yo create space and overlaps for the wingers.



Then look at last night. 4-5 drives from a forward in into the same channel to come up with a below par kick. the attacking line has NO depth to it, the attack is flat with no space to put anything on. The halves are wondering round telling players to take a drive in but they're not actually setting anything up. The defensive line.... Jesus wept. Why are we hanging back and letting teams run at us? that line should be sprinting forward, not giving anyone who touches the ball an inch. This team is actually going backwards.



Who takes the field sessions? I'm told it's Agar Why he's anywhere near the club is beyond me. Never won sod all in his life and now he's teaching what was a top 4 team how to attack! Smith as to be held responsible for the players he's brought in as well. For too long now he's ignored the fact that we don't have any quality in the backline. Atkins, get shut; Evans, Get shut; Russell, get shut.



The only players who look even remotely interested are Clark, Westerman, Lineham and on the odd occasion Sims. Which unfortunetly for all his trying and heart he isn't a top quality prop.



Instead of investing into players to build a tem we've brought in over the past few years:



- Roy Asotasi.

- Jordan Cox.

- Ryan Bailey.

- Chris Sandow.

- Kurt Gidley.

- Matty Russell.

- Kevin Brown.

- Matty Blythe for Christ sake.



Al players way past there best and/or volatile gambles for a quick fix. Smith needs to be held responsible for his decisions.

Yes but you WON the GF and two other trophies to go with it, add that to your decade of dominance that preceded your slump and you could cope with the mini-demise. We've blasted 8 years of having the best chance ever to win the big one and it now seems as far away as it ever has. I've seen us be poor and i've seen us be very poor over 30 odd years but this season, so far, is the most frustrating ever.

Poor player recruitment has been apparent for a long time... as has poor rugby. Its a shame it takes 5 losses to open people's eyes to this... Gidley was poor last season, but because we were getting results no one noticed.



Needs to be a big clear out of deadwood e.g. Gidley, Brown, Evans, Sims, Westwood, Blythe etc and Smith are all stealing a wage.

All in the first team for ONE SINGLE SEASON together before leaving again. This sort of recruitment does not give us a solid settled squad.



Nothing wrong with signing a punt here and there, but you can't fill up the peripheries of your squad with 5 or 6 punts and expect results.'



*Edit - ok just re-read this - Dodds not "in the first team" so to speak, but he was still a punt as we only gave him a one year contract.

Have to say (as a Hull fan) last season Gidley and Sandow looked very good and at atimes unplayable but from the games I've seen you play so far this season Gidley looks done and this maybe one season too many for him.

You're right lets go and get Wayne Bennett. He's sure to leave Brisbane to come over and clean up our mess.

The parallels with Leeds and their form last season is laughable.



They'd lost Peacock, Leuluia and Sinfield - we've lost Cox, Bailey and Sandow.......

He’ll not survive this season. When it’s over we’ll have had one good season in the past four. That’s not going to be acceptable to a club that’s aiming to be one of the best. I forget the exact words, but I’m sure Roger Draper came up with a mission statement for the club, along the lines of us ‘being the top rugby league club in the world’. Does anyone else remember it?



In the last 4 seasons, we’ve finished 5th, 6th, 1st, then go knows what – 9th at best?



You can’t continue on that mission with a coach with that record. It’s now just a matter of time before he’s replaced.

Now you're getting it! That's the pool we absolutely need to fish in.

Get the cheque book out and get the best head coach....what ever it cost. SJM can afford it....we can't afford not to.

You had a superb Academy side around 4 years ago, what happened to all those lads?

This is not Wigan, he simply will not play them unless we have lots of injuries to first teamers.

Wane replaced a coach who had just finished top of the table and won the Grand Final, he essentially continued the "mad dog" style of play introduced by McGuire. so I am not sure that the comparison works.

Wigan have far better attacking structures than us, they lose half a team and don't seem to skip a beat.

The constant comparisons to Leeds, Wigan and St Helens are ridiculous. We had our chances to join that elite and blew them all. The only comparison which works for me, is Huddersfield!

Every organisation I've worked in has had some sort of 'vision' or 'mission statement' which is basically an empty statement about a level of success that those producing it never really believe will be achieved but feel they have to pay lip service to showing they are ambitious.



If you ever hear anyone in government talking about how their vision is to deliver 'world class' services then you know they are going to run it down to breaking point.

Leeds also got one third of the work done they wanted to in pre-season due to the training ground being flooded, but no one wanted to acknowledge that, it was just that leeds were sh*t. Still I don't think there's much comparison to be made with leeds, leeds have won 7 grand finals. Warrington have chance after chance since 2010 to a win a grand final and have blown them all.

We were league leaders last season and Grand Finalists. The comparison is Wane was also a number 2 when they appointed him and had also played for the club which disregards your argument 'why should we appoint an ex player we should appoint someone who hasn't had any influence with the current squad'.

Still here then, thought i may have read he had resigned by now.
