| For a first hit out was a pretty good performance. Hard to tel in sone respect as with all due respect Haven we’re not the strongest challenge. Amone and Loane made a big impact coming on an Aetkin and Macbonald looked good. The remainders from last season all performed well. Think we need a few more bodies to give us options against different teams. Big change next week when we play Feath and that will give us the benchmark for success.

| Quote Cokey="Cokey"I actually agree with that. This has been my thoughts since the Saints game. Reynolds is not a favourite of mine anyway, and I just can't make my mind up about Mellor. If we had Ryan Brierley in that team today, we would've run complete riot.'"
Despite not wanting to lose Ryan after his move to FB, Aekins is a couple of rungs higher in that FB ladder. Mellor and Reynolds looked very good in my eyes yesterday, the interchange hooker needs to be running a lot more imo and Ipape does that.

| IMO Reynolds & Mellor were excellent yesterday and i already love the left edge combo of Reynolds, Macdonald & Dixon. I think that edge will run riot this year, Reynolds already looks to have a great relationship with Macdonald. Dixon could be pound for pound our best signing this year he is so quick. Asiata bossed it in the middle and was very classy with his run/pass options, Stone runs some great lines on the right edge and that pack of Sidlow, Green, Amone & Ioane was outstanding. We did lose a lot of momentum when Smith went off, he definitely made us click. Aekins was outstanding and looked a very useful runner.
Very Positive. Loved it yesterday!

York don’t seem owt special , but what about that Brian McDermott interview.?ask arrogant and difficult , I felt he was doing his best to make it hard for the interviewer .

| We played a weak team in Haven, and the halves didn't excite me in that regard. After our next couple of games against Fev & Bradford, my analysis may be different.

Agree about Asiata, he was immense. Lam did say there were more try's out there, and they will work on them areas. I just think Reynolds in particular hasn't got the rugby brain of being a smart halfback. Maybe I was a little harsh on Mellor as I think he will improve as the season progresses. We did play a poor Haven side yesterday, so it will be interesting to see how we go in our next 2 games. I know I've been banging the drum regarding Brierley but, he was one of our best players last season, and he wanted to stay. He could comfortably play in either the halves or at fullback. Anyway, let's see how we go.

| A very good first runout yesterday. A very enjoyable match with some good fast attacking rugby by Leigh. I thought Whitehaven never gave up and continued defending hard right up to the hooter. They will be comfortably mid table on that performance. Leigh left some tries out there particularly on the left edge. I am not sure Reynolds is a six. He defends well and his goal kicking is great, but his choice of pass, timing and execution is not good enough. Nene could have had six tries with better service. Great atmosphere, the North Stand were immense. We need to get Gelling signed, another big middle and another quality second rower and a classy stand off to complete the squad. Very happy so far.

| The one thing Reynolds doesn’t do is go missing. He doesn’t do a Brierley when in defence. No scoot from dummy half all match. Shall we blame the hooker?
