Wigan have a plethora *just wanted to use that word* of wingers, at least 6 first team choices (minus Davies if he goes to Les Cats) so I really could see Leigh lad Dom Manfredi coming home for a season at least, after all, Wigan did lose £1.5M last season & they will possibly be looking to recoup or at least cut losses

I doubt very much Leigh would be paying his full wage. So the loss "cap wise" to Wigan would be very marginal.

If it is correct that Leigh/Beaumont has been talking to Gigot then they can certainly afford Dom Manfredi, after all he has had 2 or 3 major lay offs to injury & is probably not on Wigan's starting 17.

Apologies for the time lag on this response - I've only just got round to finding, then reading the Op. Rules on Salary Cap. By my way of understanding, the club 'only' (

) has to bear the first £150k of a marquee player's salary. So, if say Gigot was being paid say £180k (12 x suggested £15k) the club would have to include £150k on their cap. But they would still have to stump up the £180k to pay the marquee player.



Not sure how good a deal that would be to the club, under the marquee ruling?

And just like that the Ben barba rumour comes back I’m taking it with a pinch of salt but people don’t realise how close we actually come to signing him last season till there was a stop put on it. If he agrees what was offering him last season then don’t see why not

Incredibly the Ben Barba to Leigh deal was signed and sealed and he was on his way for the play offs only to be undone at the eleventh hour by red tape.

The Tony Gigot 'rumours' are just not falling off, as one would have expected, either.
