There have been a few things to deal with on fixtures, two being Swinton fixture clashes and TV games which were out of our control, the third was England world cup fixtures - can you imagine on here if they clashed

As soon as the first two are clear then I am sure the announcements will be made

I'm going to a game boxing day

I am gutted there is no Wire v Widnes game on Boxing Day this year, it used to be great to get away for a few hours and enjoy a few beers before another round of having to sit and pretend I like distant family members whilst looking delighted as I open a new pair of socks!

Is it me or did the Boxing Day games always seem to be in good weather, whilst the New Years games didn't?

I think the New Years day games were always a bit lethargic, for obvious reasons! So maybe it just seemed colder.

I rememeber going to watch us play Runcorn away one New Years Day. Now that was a match

Boxing day was always something to look forward to , A game of rugby whilst still off work, we're all back at work when the game kicks off its not quite the same

My brother-in -law played for Runcorn , I think we played with 7 scrum- halves that day .

Fred , Peter wasn't good enough to play Pro -Rugby , though he was big enough , he only managed to play on the wing at St Judes , my brother-in-law who played for Runcorn was Geoff Dean , his brother played over 100 games for Leigh at Hooker .

Met Mick when his car was stolen and he was picking it up from Leigh 'nick' he had some awesome stories about Tony Cottrell

Both Mick an Geoff , still are Tough blokes Geoff teaches Boxing at the Lions Den Gym in Wigan , ive only ever seen one man get the best of him for being Hard ?Tony Cottrell , I still joke with him about the time Tony flattened him at Canal Street ,we had George Mann playing in our pack that day .

Of course I'll see games but if they're on a Sunday I wont be able to have a beer as I gt up early and never drink the night before work anymore as I drive early in the morning now
