| Sorry Ste but two championships, two challenge cup wins (and a few 2nd div championships) in 120 (approx) years hardly make us a big club, Cas have one of the best supporter base relative to the size of the town in the whole of RL, if ours were the same we would be cracking on 7 - 8K per week
For a town of that size they haven't half 'churned' out some GB talent, not saying I like their fans they are probably as vociferous as ours and certainly as parochial, but an incident with the academy a few years ago tainted my views of a certain section of them, I like that Cas TV though its something Ive been after doing for years and something I'll be pushing for again this (even though I was one of the first to use YouTUBE as a media for RL).

| I'm not targeting them specifically I think i'm a bit envious to be honest if we would of had proper people running the club when we have had success then maybe we would be established in SL now who knows. Its a double rollover tomorrow so i'm still in with a shout ! Who is this Brierley anyway i've never heard of him

| Seems to be rated highly at Cas certainly moved their pack around the park in the academy last year, kid who came through the Westhoughton Lions ranks, only just turned 20 (or near to) a half back who looks from the videos on their as pretty usefull.
He would probably either be on loan or dual contract which Im a bit sceptical about as ive not seen the 'rules' or heard much officially about as of yet, he would obviously be coming as a first team player so the pressure would be on our halfs to perform so hartley and Riddy would have to hit the ground running so to speak.

He is only 17, not 20 played for westhoughton lions and think he was on a deal at leeds before moving to cas, however couldnt even get on wigan and leigh service area. . .

He is currently 17, good freinds with his dad, 18 in march. decent prospect, had a look on cas site this is probably the best video of him, scores 1 and is involved in a couple of other tries www.castigers.com/cgi-bin/tigertv.cgi?171

Thought Robbie Paul was looking to play in the halves rather than at 9, Fred?

| yes but he surely would be a starter at 7 and both Riddy and Hartley are 6's as is Brierley.
One would think that with the money he is being paid Paul as well as Donlan and Bibey would be definate starters.

| He is still only 17. I would think personally it would be a risk taking him on loan. As i've said not played a higher level than u18s as of yet. A good prospect all the same.

That says more about Service area selection than Ryans playing ability,
Castleford scout came down to two matches last season and signed three
players two for academy one for reserves... not bad for Div3 NWC team.
Obviously saw something Lancashire scouts didn't

| Ryan is 18 in march,he was actually on a scholaship with leigh a couple of years ago ,but you dozy buggers let him go!
He turned down Wigan to sign for castleford,a very mature lad for his age,and lives and breathes league.
He is an excellent prospect and won the fans academy player of the season this year.
