Interestingly (or not), Richmond played the very first game under Football Association rules, against Barnes in Mortlake, in 1863. They can't have enjoyed it much, as they then became founder members of the RFU in 1871. You might not be surprised to learn it was a 0-0 draw. |

i'm guessing it was a 0-0 draw either due to the fact that they kept kicking it over the crossbar or beacuse whenever they got the ball they just kicked it away followed by the fans clapping |

Saw a Fuller's van yesterday in a car park and it said on the side official beer of England Golf Union....so an affiliation with rugby shouldn't be such an issue.
