Seeing as the trains maybe a complete balls up on Sunday I'm considering driving to the game. Anybody had any experience or advice for parking around the ground?

a lot of parking is in the back streets on the other side of the gasometers - eg Lord Street which runs parallel to Oldham Road, then walk down (1/4 mile).
Failing that use the Tariff Street car park off Ancoats (more secure at least) - about 3/4 mile away

If you can get away with it Park on Piccadilly trading estate around the back of the train station, it was free as i used to work around there.
Be aware of the ladies of the night nearby

Last time I parked in a car park right next to the ground which was £10. Not bad considering you are there all day and was easy to get out of too!

Beware of the yellow jackets some are a long way from the ground, also a lot of side streets have permit schemes, the official large car park near gas holder from Oldham Rd along Alan Turing Way pass gas holder on right then turn right into car park, £10 but your car is safe !
