2. Why have you announced this 4 days before the most important game if the year??
3. What do you propose to do with the reported £1M the club has made in transfer fees this year??
The excitement of Fridays clash with Leeds has completely left me as I'm more concerned with the state of the club long term rather than short term gains.'"
A good summary.
My view of the HONEST answers from IL would be
1. This was never enforceable. I should never have gloated about it, nor classified it as an astute bit of business on my part. I now look like a plonker.
2. I want to maximise the ticket sales for Friday and the chance of seeing the best player in the last decade play in potentially his last game for Wigan will provide that.
3. Well we are investing in long term development, infrastructure, scouts, youth development.... you know, all the stuff that we wouldn't be investing in were it not for these windfalls.......er hang on..........no not that.......er....... |

If Sam had of stayed it wouldn't have stopped the moaners from moaning or the clappers from clapping. There is a lot of frustration in our game and you can't blame Sam and the Moose for wanting to go over to Oz for a decent wage and pitting their talents against tougher competition. I do genuinely believe IL is the best thing to happy to Wigan for a long time and he's fighting on all fronts and he doesn't have to do it, he can quit at any time but he loves the club. When the economic climate improves and the opportunities arise, that money will pay dividends for the club not IL | | |

Look at the good Dr. over at Salford, I have seen comments on here about him and his recruitment plans etc and despite being linked with some world class names they hold a press conference to announce a load of OAP's from SL and a few NRL lads of a similar pedigree or lower than Eddie Petteybourn.
Growth from within is the way to succeed in times like this, market and both the coach and IFL are doing a great job in relation to that.
To be a top player you do not have to have an Antipodean accent. Saw a post lamenting the loss of Lima, and how he had not been replaced. Jesus as good as he was in his first year, he was gash in his second year generally, give me Scott Taylor any day, who did replace him.
The more you moan and complain an out being "short changed" or quote such things as ""IFL is mugging the fans off" or words to that effect the more moronic you look.
We as a club, are trading in a weak market, we are dealing with that the best way we can.
If you want to see a team littered with established World Class players at the height if their powers, put your hand in your pocket and get Premier Sport, then also an added advantage will be you will actually know something about the overseas players we have recruited rather than form an opinion on them based on zero evidence, or even better do yourself a favour get down to the Academy Final tomorrow if you want to see our future marquee players in action. Players that IFL is investing in and nurturing through the system to ensure we as a club are prepared for all trade conditions, now and in the future.'"
